#Accenture's "Reinventing M&A with GenAI" strategy paper is worth reading if you're involved in any shape or form in such happenings. They make a fair point: charmed as M&A experts might now be about the pre-M&A support GenAI offers, Drucker's maxim that “Execution (post-deal) eats strategy (predeal) for breakfast.” need not be overlooked. In my field, of post-M&A integration of HR operating models and organizational design, mapping business needs with roles and then the right talent has not changed for tens of years. We are too slow. We often do not account for employee sentiment and are still too superficial in outlining cultural differences - so we often fail to harvest the intended benefits of the deals. If GenAI is already able to help with that, we need to stop leaving money on the table by upskilling & upgrading our ways of working. This is the best leverage we've had in years to make sure M&As are hurting people less and yielding more financial benefits. Transformative Collaboration at EY wavespace Munich: Unleashing the Potential of GenAI in HR A day in our EY wavespace Munich marked by a surge of inspiration and collaborative energy, where we explored the vast possibilities of General AI (GenAI) in revolutionizing Human Resources. I'm deeply grateful for the rich exchange of perspectives with our diverse group of participants, hailing from various industries, all united in their quest for innovation. The discussions underscored the importance of user-centric approaches, swift innovation, and agile practices in today's fast-paced business landscape. A heartfelt thank you to Martin, Benjamin and Sören for igniting our imaginations with practical insights into GenAI applications. Their presentation on use-cases, bolstered by real-life examples, provided a tangible vision of what's possible when technology meets human ingenuity. I also want to extend my appreciation to Barbara, Max and Tobias for their invaluable contributions. Their shared experiences and wisdom shed light on the transformative journey of integrating GenAI into HR processes. The collective innovative spirit in the room was truly invigorating. It's clear that when we come together in spaces designed to foster creativity and co-creation, like EY wavespace, there's no limit to what we can achieve. 🚀 Tech Revolution Summit Last week I had the pleasure to be at the Accenture Tech Revolution Summit 2024 in Bogenhausen (smartvillage GmbH). What did I take with me? That beside the hype around technology advancement the human being is still in the center. How do we work together in future? How do we adapt technology in our processes? What will the future work look like? How do we motivate people to continuously learn? Interesting to hear was that an intrinsic part of change is clarity and transparency within the organization as a basis for trust. What have you done to built the workforce of the future and what have you done to be clear in your strategy and transparent with your people about the future? Last week I took part in the health planet panel discussion at SAP Global Health Summit about the interconnected pathways of Sustainability and Health together with Alexandra van der Ploeg and Dr. med. Lea Scheidt. To sum it up: The event was incredibly insightful and inspiring. I had the chance to share a few examples of SAP’s successful sustainable initiatives and how we can drive positive impact. 🚀   The first question was: “What is your interpretation of a healthy planet?”   For me, a healthy planet is, where the ecosystem is in balance, and where we respect and operate within planetary boundaries to achieve and maintain this balance. This means, for example, committing to actions that preserve biodiversity and ensure the vitality of our natural environment. 🌍🌱    💡At the end I highlighted how every employee can contribute to our sustainability initiatives: Every employee plays a crucial role in our sustainability journey. Additionally, employees can adapt sustainable practices such as: reduce waste, conserve energy, and use resources efficiently in their daily tasks to create a positive impact. By using public transport, sharing rides, and combining commuting with exercise, we can already choose emissions-free options!   Thank you, Alexandra van der Ploeg and Dr. med. Founder and board member of FASBA - Fachverband Strohballenbau Deutschland e.V from 2002-2016, Dirk Scharmer demonstrates that eco-friendly construction is viable in both multi-storey and urban settings through the recently completed "querbeet" housing project in Lüneburg. The development comprises 40 flats across two four-storey buildings, featuring timber frame construction, straw insulation in the external walls, and clay-plastered interior surfaces. The build excels in all aspects of sustainability: it provides healthy living conditions, shows exceptional environmental credentials, offers strong climate benefits, and proves cost-effective. He introduces the fundamental principles and distinctive characteristics of this construction method, successfully addressing all concerns about durability and safety.
