Hence, the best way to actually know your customer, is building a personal relationship with them and plainly asking them about what you want and need to know. In complex b2b Software Sales, humans sell to humans - so why not take the human route and just ask, as you would get to know a new friend?

What's the best way to close a deal after a product demo?
From experience, the best follow up and the superpower of any sales manager is the good old phone call. But don't just call to squeeze the situation. Call to have an honest conversation with your counterpart about the process and the follow up. Create trust and show empathy. Then the phone is your magic and very powerful weapon, especially as for most buyers it's harder to say no to you on the phone after such conversation compared to answering a standard follow up mail.
