  • Hong Kong Business Case Competition (Final in Manila)

    The annual Hong Kong Business Case competition, also known as the IIBD International Case Competition, is organized by the Hong Kong Baptist University and gives students the opportunity to gain hands-on experiences to tackle real-world business problems. In the centre of the competition are strategic challenges and managerial dilemmas which makes this case competition a fruitful learning experience for students. This year's theme is 'Digital Disruption & Global Inclusiveness'.

  • Sustainable International Learning Community (SILC) in Uganda

    Together with three fellow students, I worked on a project at UP4S in Bukomansimbi, Uganda. The project was implemented within the framework of the Sustainable International Learning Community (SILC) which aims to create a challenging and inspiring international learning environment for young people by connecting people from different countries to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

    Together with three fellow students, I worked on a project at UP4S in Bukomansimbi, Uganda. The project was implemented within the framework of the Sustainable International Learning Community (SILC) which aims to create a challenging and inspiring international learning environment for young people by connecting people from different countries to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

    During our internship, we focused on the SDG projects in Bukomansimbi with special attention on the setup and management of an ISFM (Integrated Soil Fertility Management) vegetable garden. My team and I learned a lot by working together with the local stakeholders and by being part of an entirely different business culture. Also, the locals appreciated learning more about how to manage the garden (e.g. budgeting, reporting).
    With the help of many local and Dutch experts and stakeholders, we created a management plan for the ISFM garden and wrote an advisory report on how to further develop the garden, spread the ISFM idea and how to enhance the SILC. Additionally, we created an infographic explaining the SILC using the ISFM garden example and we wrote a website document with possible texts and structures for a currently planned SILC website.

  • The Future of Innovation in the Zwolle Region

    In our fast-changing environment, it is hard for companies to be prepared for the future. My team and I conducted focus group discussions to explore what actually drives innovation and what trends we see in innovation. Based on the discussions, we develop possible future scenarios and a strategy on how to best adjust to the future of innovation in particular in the Zwolle region. But what we can conclude is that collaboration is very important for innovation!

  • Rabobank Ijsseldelta - Energy Neutral Housing

    Rabobank Ijsseldelta encourages people and especially their clients to make their houses energy neutral as the Netherlands aims at having energy neutral houses by 2050. With three fellow students, I planned a project for Rabobank to inform people in Zwolle about energy neutral housing and raise awareness of the urgency of sustainability.
