Reflections from Forum UnternehmerTUM: Navigating Innovation and Leadership with #resilience 🌟 Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending the transformative #ForumUnternehmerTUM event, which brilliantly highlighted the pivotal role of resilience in leadership. 🚀 Key Takeaways: 1)Self-Knowledge as the Bedrock of Resilience: Embracing challenges is second nature to us as leaders, yet true growth stems from profound self-awareness. Understanding our limitations not only guides us in seeking help but also ensures we sustain our resilience through robust network and team support. 💪 2) Stepping Beyond Comfort Zones: To genuinely harness the power of uncertainty, we must venture beyond familiar territories. This requires challenging not only our technical skills and leadership styles but also our beliefs, emotions, and cultural assumptions. 🌍 3) Innovation as Transformational Energy: In a world shifting from change to chaos, innovation emerges as our beacon, transforming potential future anxieties into positive, actionable energy. ⚡ 4) Redefining Innovation Across Sectors: Innovation transcends the startup ecosystem. It is a dynamic, though young discipline that enhances established businesses by integrating existing knowledge with innovative management and leadership practices, balancing internal strengths with external capabilities. 🔄 5) Humanizing Technology through AI: Artificial Intelligence should not only streamline processes but also embrace risks, with our teams playing the role of mentors and innovators. This approach allows AI to balance optimizing processes with spearheading innovation. 🤖 6) Flexible Financial Strategies for Innovation: Whether it's family-owned firms innovating based on intuition without strict financial frameworks, or publicly traded companies constrained by quarterly reporting, the essential strategy is to humanize financial approaches. In SMEs, we use financial metrics to clarify our methods of value creation, while in larger firms, it's crucial to communicate to investors how short-term sacrifices can yield long-term benefits. 💼 7) Leadership for Future Generations: Now more than ever, responsible leadership is crucial. We must arm our teams with the tools necessary for resilience and adaptability, ensuring our innovations make a positive societal impact and pave the way for long-term success. 🌱 Thank you to the organisers at UnternehmerTUM for a truly enlightening experience! 🙏 Join me in reflecting on how we can all contribute to a more resilient and innovative future. #Leadership #Innovation #Resilience

Now online: State-of-Innovation #8 with Katharina A. F. Lowinski, founder of ryvr.me and former innovation manager with Volkswagen AG: "How to innovate in a non-core business area – lessons from an innovator in the automotive industry" 🚗 In this episode Katharina shares her experience with building up a digital platform 👩💻 out of the core business of a leading automotive company. Short spoiler: when you burn for an idea 💡, make sure to make the management excited about it, as you need them to sponsor your idea. Pick one person that likes your product and can help you raise your voice. It's also important that such a promotor can make sure you have access to resources and experts in the organization. Support is needed if you want to create something new. What to expect from that Episode 🎙: - What is the rational to innovate in a non-core business? - Why it is important for a car manufacturer to think about mobility as a whole! - How to keep the fire burning even in bad weather! A very important question that we are discussing is "what exactly is the core business?", as that is the ultimate question to gain understanding on what a "non-core business" would be. Is a navigation service core or non-core for a car manufacturer? What about helping people arriving on time at a meeting in urban areas? What about helping people to organize a weekend trip with friends? There are many "jobs-to-be-done" where a car may play an important role. In all of these examples people cannot get the whole job done just by using a car. It takes planning, preparation, knowing how to execute a travel, monitoring, and knowing how to modify a travel or the mode of transportation. And not to forget about "the last mile" when finishing a travel (at the point of destination). A car manufacturer may decide if any of these jobs or job steps are considered "core business" or if that term only covers an existing product that currently generates revenues (e.g. car sales). Depending on how a company defines its core business (e.g. the existing line of products, or the core job that is being supported with different solutions) may change how innovation is being managed, focused and budgeted. In a nutshell: Innovating in a non-core business is first of all a question of how you define it, and then a question of how to create a mindset towards helping customers get their jobs done better;) What do you think? Looking forward your comments 😀 Find the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/dSGuPF6D #stateofinnovation #mobility #automotive #opportunitydiscovery #customercentricity #outcomedriveninnovation

The economic development in Germany is currently under a lot of pressure. This is also visible in my area of passion the #automotive industry and the transition to #e-mobility. But we believe that a pivot is possible. Here is our latest perspective on “A pivot for Germany – All for growth and growth for all”. According to our results, Germany can increase its GDP by almost 50 percent by 2035. ▶️ With a dual strategy of stronger focus on future fields and higher productivity, plus a massive state investment push, Germany can become more attractive for investments from private sector sources. ▶️ The value of the German economy would grow from 12 to 24 trillion euros, which would mean an additional 31,000 EUR in annual income for households. ▶️ With this growth, central societal challenges can be addressed – with higher investments in education, health, climate change, infrastructure development, and social security systems. 👉 The full report is available here: mck.de/apivotforgermany (English) or mck.de/wachstumswende (German) #WachstumswendeDeutschland #60JahreMcKinseyDeutschland

Are we equal, yet ? 🙄 Today, I had a super interesting meeting with Celine Klonki. Celine is a remarkably motivated woman, passionate about highlighting the barriers to #female #leadership. I had the pleasure to support her as an interview partner in her bachelor thesis: “Female leadership - a natural evolutionary development in the 21st century world of work? An empirical analysis of the framework conditions and barriers in the context of feminism and gender equality” Throughout our discussion, we explored the challenges women face in leadership roles, the importance of #awareness and #mentorship, and the steps we can all take to foster a more inclusive and equitable environment. I am excited to learn about the recommendations for actions Celine is going to derive from her research. Let me know if you're also interested in the result and I'll make sure to put in a good word for you to share these valuable insights 😋 #w4m #femaleleadership #feminism

#WeAreDevelopers #WWC24 – Part 2 The Power of Purpose: Unlocking Potential and Innovation our panel talk with Sue, Hadi, Steffen and me. What is the potential, “purpose” can unlock in a workforce/for a company? Interesting that at the current survey of Kienbaum showed that 60% of employees don´t know the company’s purpose and our quick check in the audience showed only 50%. Especially in the increasing complexity around us the purpose give orientation and helps to do the right things. The second dimension of purpose is your purpose in life. Unfortunately, this is even lower. Just 1% in the audience has a purpose of life. If you don´t know your purpose you are living the purpose of someone else. This is o.k. if it feels right to you, but you should take some time to find it and check if this is in line with your company´s purpose. Your full potential can flow if this is the case. Let´s find your purpose of life now! It´s might be good to listen in our first podcast about “purpose” and how this trend will stay. We had Dominic in our session. https://lnkd.in/e23sqmdB Again, I am glad to be part of the #WWC24. Just being part of a very interesting event: “Automotive Crisis or e-Mobility Opportunity” organized by ChargeUp Europe with interesting speakers: Peter Badik, MEP Herbert Dorfmann, MEP Susana Solís Pérez, @Moumen Hamdouch and Wolfgang Ademmer at the #EuropeanParlament. Main discussion point is the question (again): do we have enough public charging points or not in place? One interesting statement was, that in Europe we have 1/3 of countries, where public charging infrastructure is growing, 1/3 of countries with an okay amount of public charging infrastructure and 1/3 of countries, where we are lacking behind in regards of public charging infrastructure. Whats your opinion about this statement? #interoperability #EVCharging #Collaboration

The #Automotive industry continues to be impacted by significant intrinsic and extrinsic drivers of change, such as changing customer behavior, new alternative powertrain technologies, inflation, geopolitical conflicts, and increased competition. Many of these factors can be addressed by continuously driving their #digitization as well as their software and #IT #transformation. Our latest IT Trends 2024 study shows the agenda of the German automotive industry in its current and future IT transformation. But it is no longer enough to carry out projects meticulously. It shows the importance of flexibility within the system landscape transformations, the teams and also the hearts and minds of the people working on these changes. "Going to Gemba” ("Gehe an den Ort des Geschehens") is one of the most relevant principles for relentless improvement. For me it is also became essential part of my work routines - especially back again after the pandemic. Only if we meet and connect with real people, with real discussions and in real offices, we can get the full picture. With "Magenta Office" a new possibility to work abroad in the EU is available in DT since 2023. And this year, I decided to combine a wonderful trip to Valencia with working in the Offices of VTI abroad (DT IT Spain, powered by T-Systems). A special THANK YOU to my colleagues Sergei Holmeckis and Kirill Chernin who opened some doors and connected me to people on-site! Some thoughts I'd like to share, also on our way to New Work and Magenta Offices: - 💓Magenta “has many colors”, but you can always feel when you are entering a “Magenta Office” – equipment works, easy to connect on topics, openness of colleagues, cross-functional mindset ... - 🌍A shift of location brings a perspective - new ideas, new inspiration and energy to go on - 🦸🏻♀️Local roles, people who take care on-site, are needed! These colleagues act cross-functional, have their ears an eyes on the pulse, have the best interest of employees at heart. But we need to LISTEN what is needed locally! - 📝Some creativity and small ideas make a difference – be it individual naming for conference rooms, small meeting areas, local communities – and these ideas do not necessarily cost a lot of money! - „👋Connecting People“ is important – especially in times of transformation and Change #NewWork #NewWorkatVTI #transformationstartswithme #BestTeamintheIndustry Jan Meyer

At #Modaxo, we're not just about building tech – we’re about making a difference. As a tech nerd, I'm always impressed by our innovations, but what truly excites me is the real-world impact we have on people’s lives. That's why I’m incredibly proud of the Trapeze DACH team’s recent collaboration with the Schweizerischer Blinden- und Sehbehindertenverband SBV and Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG). Together, they’re implementing the INTROS Mobility Assistance (kudos to SYSTEMTECHNIK GmbH !) System in #Berlin, a game-changing step toward improving accessibility in public transport. This system provides acoustic passenger information in buses and trams, offering essential support for blind, visually impaired, and mobility-impaired passengers. It’s inspiring to see our technology contribute to making public transport more inclusive and accessible, empowering individuals to navigate independently. #BVG #Accessibility #Inclusion #PublicTransport #Mobility #INTROS #TrapezeDACH #MovePeopleTogether #modaxo
