With the help of AI-driven personalized recommendations as well as access to experts via a teleclinic, Hermaid aims to improve healthcare and accessibility for women. 🥉 Third place was awarded to Fitkick Liga by INFO GmbH in Cloppenburg for utilizing wearables and gamification to improve heart health. The introduction of new medical therapies represents major challenges for healthcare providers such as hospitals or medical practices. Often, there is insufficient information about how these innovations will affect internal processes and, consequently, personnel resources. Therefore, necessary resources can only be planned with difficulty, and some of these questions can only be partially answered: 🔹 Which new drugs will come to market in the near future? 🔹 What will the additional costs be? Can other costs be saved to compensate? 🔹 Are investments in infrastructure necessary? 🔹 Are there enough personnel resources to apply the new therapy to all eligible patients? 🔹 What information would be necessary to estimate whether and how innovative therapies will impact internal processes and resources? 🔹 How can healthcare providers prepare for innovative therapies and reduce planning risks?   Bjoern Grob, partner at the Swiss consulting company HEMAP AG, and I addressed these questions in a paper published in the current issue of ÖKZ magazine. Have you already heard the latest news from BfArM about the BSI certification for DiGA (digital health apps)? There are new transitional rules that manufacturers should be aware of. In brief: ❗Do you already have a DiGA listed in the directory? If so, you will need the BSI TR-03161 certificate by January 1, 2025, to demonstrate that your app complies with BSI's data security criteria. If you are unable to comply with this date, ensure that you already have a date set with a test center and inform BfArM about your assessment date. ✅ Is your DiGA undergoing the content review process as of January 1, 2025? If your application is formally complete, you can submit the certificate during the review process by June 30, 2025. However, a date must be set with a test center. 💡Are you planning to submit an application for your DiGA? From January 1, 2025, the certificate will be required as part of the formal completeness check. In any case, don't get a running stich in the short time you have left. Our specialized team is here to guide you through all the requirements of BSI TR-03161 and ensure your systems meet the strict security standards.
