++ This is Not a Post for Sympathy, But a Crucial Reminder that taking care of ourselves should always be priority number one. ++ Last December, I arrived in Łódź for business in the early hours of the morning, only to be hit by severe tooth pain. The kind that makes you rush to the emergency room, desperate for relief. Little did I know, this was just the beginning. Back in Romania, where I was having my "work abroad" stint, my partner took me to the dentist. What we discovered was far more serious than I could have imagined: a severe issue with my upper jaw that, if left untreated, could lead to facial collapse. The reality of this hit hard. I had to undergo surgery, and the process is still ongoing. Just this Monday, I underwent another procedure. Now, I find myself living, working, and traveling with a swollen face and temporarily missing a frontal tooth until the end of the month. This experience has taught me a crucial lesson: taking care of ourselves is non-negotiable. As someone with dental phobia, I realize my fear could have put me in an even tougher situation. Ignoring our health can have serious consequences, and it's a stark reminder that we must always prioritize our well-being. So just just keep this in mind; in our fast-paced lives, it's easy to put off those check-ups, to ignore that persistent pain, or to let fear dictate our actions. But we owe it to ourselves and our loved ones to stay on top of our health. Self-care is not a luxury; it's a necessity. 9 years ago I rejoined sonnen GmbH coming back from Tesla, as managing director. For me it was the biggest gamble of my career at that point in time. Especially if I think about my Tesla share package. 😅 Bringing great talent along like Jannik Schall, Sascha Koppe, Jonas Rabe or Alan Atzberger - even finding Blake Richetta for our U.S. unit. Still remember traveling to L.A. sick and on antibiotics to convince him to leave Tesla for a unknow underfunded German startup. 😅 The sonnen founder Christoph Ostermann committed to an ambitious and very unlikely Masterplan. We changed the entire product with a new battery type and product design - we brought on LFP battery cells as first supplier in this segement. But more importantly we started to built the first VPP based on batteries and integrated them into the electricity service know as “Sonnen-Community”. We expanded into 15 countries and 3 continents and helped change the landscape of solar, batteries and VPP. Raised more capital than any other cleantech during that time. With 1KOMMA5° we are picking up where we left off at sonnen. I am thankful to Christoph Ostermann, founder of sonnen, who not only trusted me along the way of joining and leaving sonnen twice, but who also is part of 1KOMMA5° as vice chairman and shareholder today. Without taking that gamble 1KOMMA5° wouldn’t have founded. My learning: stay real - take risks, especially if they are rooted in passion.

The article delves into the current landscape of corporate venturing. We had the opportunity to discuss A4nXT GmbHs approach to corporate venturing, which involves becoming a customer of startups through venture clienting and how A4nXT is playing a pivotal role in bridging the gap between Audi and the startup ecosystem. Brain fitness at it’s best 🤹‍♂️ ... #corporateinfluencing – what a great hobby 📣 My learning out of the last two years on this plattform: the main challenge is #storytelling. If you would like to be successful as a corporate influencer it is significantly guided by your talent to tell little stories 🖋 When I started to be more active here on LinkedIn it was indeed very uncertain where this journey will go to and what kind of influence this activity will have on my #personalbranding, on my #personality, on myself 🙋‍♂️ People who knowing me personally are aware about the fact that I’m a very reliable and structured person. I don’t like surprises that much - so always a proper preparation is key for me 📑 But we all know, the dance floor on this platform is something different. Surprises are self-evident and you need to learn to deal with this 🕺 The positive thing was, that I identified that the storytelling part suits me incredibly well. I neither have an issue to identify content ideas nor I have a topic to build a #story around. And along with this finding – the fun is also coming 📚 This means, that in the meantime quite frequently I’m also dealing with storytelling in my private life. Instead of a "must" it became more like a hobby. Of course, my #personalbrand is still mainly influenced by business topics as my strategy is to be seen as an expert within my business 👨‍🔧 But also, business topics could be enriched by a little story around and on top with pure authenticity 😀 What about you? Michael Treskow from Eight Roads Ventures said recently on #startupland powered by deutsche-startups.de that we're already playing in the big leagues. But are we? Let's dive into some numbers. Germany's venture capital scene is booming, but how do we compare globally? 1. In 2022, Germany attracted €11.3 billion in VC investments. Impressive, right? 2. Yet, the US still leads with €150 billion. The gap is significant. 3. But here's a twist: Germany is closing the distance fast. Growth rates are higher than many expect. So, what's behind this momentum? → A strong startup ecosystem that fosters innovation. → Government initiatives supporting tech ventures. → A cultural shift towards embracing entrepreneurship. But challenges remain. The focus is now on creating an inclusive environment where diverse voices, especially from the HR sector, can thrive. To truly lead, we must leverage untapped potential, like the 50+ generation and women in STEM. Germany's VC landscape is evolving, and the future looks promising. Startup news agency brutkasten reported that the Bitpanda becomes the official partner of the NFL from the coming season. This adds to its existing sponsorship portfolio, which includes FC #Bayern Munich, AC #Milan and tennis star Dominic Thiem. Bitpanda and the National Football League (NFL), which is expanding its global reach through games in Europe for several years, have agreed a long-term partnership. The new partnership is intended to further raise the profile of American football in the DACH market. In addition to the partnership with the NFL, Bitpanda has concluded several media partnerships with NFL broadcasters such as RTL, DAZN and belN. The company will also work with NFL legends Sebastian Vollmer and Markus Kuhn, two of the leading NFL commentators in Europe, to create exclusive content throughout the season. ‘We are impressed by the holistic concept with which Bitpanda wants to support American football in Germany and have felt a strong passion from the very beginning,’ says Alexander Steinforth, General Manager NFL Germany.
