Graypes GmbH to Discontinue Use of OpenAI's ChatGPT ! I'm writing to inform our customers, partners and my LinkedIn community of a significant change in our #AI integration strategy at Graypes GmbH. Effective July 1, 2024, Graypes GmbH will cease using OpenAI's ChatGPT in our IRIS search engine. This decision comes after careful consideration of several alarming trust concerns and issues with OpenAI. Graypes GmbH has been a pioneer in the field of #AI, utilizing both our own AI models and ChatGPT as early as March 2022, well before the global surge in #AI adoption. However, recent developments have raised substantial concerns, prompting this change: 🚩 Leadership Departures: The resignations of Ilya Sutskever and Jan Leike, key figures in trust and ethics at OpenAI, have raised questions about the company's commitment to these critical values. 🚩 Profit-Driven Shift: OpenAI’s transition from a non-profit to a profit-driven model raises concerns that the emphasis on integrity and ethical considerations may be compromised in favor of financial gains. 🚩 Board Appointments: The addition of Paul M. Nakasone, former National Security Agency Chief, to OpenAI's board has heightened our suspicions about potential government and secret service involvement in the company's operations. ❗️Given these concerns, we have decided to discontinue the use of ChatGPT within our products. Specifically, this affects IRIS, our versatile search tool for businesses. IRIS, powered by our proprietary Natural Language Processing and content rating algorithms, will no longer integrate OpenAI technology. 💡 Instead, IRIS will now fully rely on our proprietary search methods, resulting in a 15% increase in speed and a 20% improvement in success hit ratio. We want to assure our clients that this transition will be seamless and will result in enhanced performance. On my way to beautiful #Karlsruhe for LEARNTEC‘24! Well…currently stuck in almost equally beautiful #Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe for a while, but we’ll slowly get there… Gives some extra time to reflect on what we’ll be seeing from the German #edTech ecosystem during the next three days. My top wish for the week: Last year was disappointing in terms of truly impactful #AI use cases shown by vendors (see my reflection here: https://lnkd.in/eGipJUZ5). Quite shocking, given that 80% of vendors are either “traditional LMS” or “content producer” – and BOTH categories will be disrupted and/or fade out of business within this decade. This year, I expect (well, I should better say: hope!) to see a different picture. Where are the product visions for an AI-powered world for skills & learning? Just browsed the event app a bit and at least I’m seeing lots of talks with “AI” in the title. And I truly hope for more than yet another “here’s another chatGPT prompt”. And personally, I’m expecting lots of exciting conversations on the future of skills-based, personalized learning. We’ll share our latest insights from leading skill transformations in the DACH area during our talks tomorrow. But even more I’m very much looking forward to meet many of our clients and partners in person again, get their feedback on the latest product updates, and chat about what’s coming next! In the latest post from Jan Bosch he explains very well why we need to adjust our ways to govern, steer, plan, invest and execute the development of software... Working close together with Rasmus Thornberg embedded in Tetra Pak Decision Science Team led by Alberto Barroso, PhD this insight was the starting point for comming up with a lingo and approach how adoption centred goverance for decision science products would work at scale in TetraPak.. In data and AI heavy projects and products this insight POPS even more... Since in nature these projects are probabillistic. And if we go to Deep Learning we get all the way to "tinkering", trial and error to see what weights work. and how to make the system work.. So in essence the old way of looking at Software development comes from a determinisitic project oriented view and governance and if we interpret Jan We believe we must shift to a probabillistic product life cycle view. It means most frame works we all use have major blind spots, since we are governing project value, user and the outcome as it is known when in fact we need to govern a innovation adoption cycle. The current frameworks have merit, but big blindspots. They are governing good stuff but still not adressing wtat needs to be of highest concern... adoption....IF Jan is correct. For TetraPak We developed a pilot. 1 day training on adoption centered governance for Data and AI products for Program leaders, product leaders and sterco members. Code reviews are a band aid. The root cause of issues is lack of system design and development cadence to not have code be some painter's canvas for creativity or experimentation. Until you get that under control, you are forced to "hate-keep" contributions by subjectively chosen and biased leads. I don't care how nice these people may be, they are biased and will make your technical issues into social ones. If you don't have that in place yet, you can learn about how #EventModeling and #EventSourcing solve this issue at the free open spaces next month in Berlin.
