    YARN is a cluster resource manager for various Big Data tasks. If an application requests for resources, YARN provides containers with certain resource constraints that can be used by the application. Currently, YARN focuses on local resources that is node computing resources like CPU and memory. However, network topology and available network resources like bandwidth are neglected.

    The goal is to enhance YARN with a bandwidth enforcement mechanism that is able to provide network bandwidth guarantees using SDN techniques. For this, the recent techniques for enforcing network bandwidth guaranteesthat can be used in typical cluster network topologies (e.g. fat tree). The proposed design should consider several aspect like work conserving policies and scalability.
