Last week our co-founder Friederike Hesse spoke at this year's HANSA FORUM on a panel looking at the challenges and costs of #fueleu and #euets for shipping companies. In a very engaging impulse speech Clemens Dr. Hillmer, LL.M. (UCT) introduced the legal implications of the "little monster" FuelEU Maritime. Irina Haesler, Gunnar Georgs, Clemens, Friederike and our excellent hosts Krischan Förster and Michael Meyer then discussed how the monster might be tamed. The discussion was very lively and the taming not an easy thing to be achieved. Brutal honesty, data control, cooperation across the industry and smart legal structures were mentioned as important parts of a smart way forward.
