Have you ever hesitated to leave a light on for convenience, knowing it wastes energy? 💡 This right here is an example of Sustainability and its conflicts of interest. Balancing sustainability and the fast-paced demands of the gaming industry is no simple task and when you add AI into the mix? It becomes a whole new ocean to navigate through. Last week, Kathrin Jansen and Maike Steinweller dove into the world of 'Sustainability and Its Conflicts of Interest' where they shed light on #Wooga’s sustainability reporting initiatives, how far we’ve come, our challenges, and what lies ahead. This thought-provoking session, led us to brainstorm for effective solutions that would help our industry become more sustainable. Here are just a few of the conflicts we’re tackling: ⚡ User Growth vs. Energy Consumption Enjoying a highly polished and immersive gaming experience consumes energy. Quite significant amounts. The challenge for studios like us is to find ways of not compromising on the quality of the experience while finding reduction potential on the energy side. 🤖 AI vs. Reducing Emissions We all know that the use of generative AI is a huge driver of increased emissions due to the high power need. Since we can’t really afford to ignore AI as a potential productivity boost, we need to find ways for how to do that in the least harmful way for the environment.   It’s a work in progress, requiring constant learning and adaptation. From a wickedly creative Pumpkin Carving Contest, to eerie office decorations that haunt every corner, the Halloween spirit is alive and thriving. 🎉 And the celebrations continue! June’s Journey  turned 7 and we are not done with our celebrations just yet. To commence the end of the anniversary celebrations, we took the party to Berlin’s iconic- Ballhaus Wedding, the very spot where our "Veiled Threat" series was filmed!🎬 This time, we invited our players to join the fun at this ticketed event, with all proceeds going towards supporting the Tierschutzverein für Berlin und Umgebung Corporation e.V. in Berlin! 🐕 🎭 From exciting games and crafts to delicious food and jaw-dropping performances, it was a night to remember. The cast of the series made an appearance as  ‘suspicious guests’ adding a thrilling twist to the evening. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, whether you were there in person or tuned in via livestream.
