Während die USA gewählt haben und Deutschland vor Neuwahlen steht, leben wir in einer Zeit großer wirtschaftlicher und politischer Herausforderungen. Der Standort Deutschland steht unter Druck. Gerade in diesem dynamischen Umfeld hat unser Energiedialog gezeigt, wie wertvoll der Austausch über die Zukunft der Energieversorgung und die Herausforderungen unserer Branche ist. Gemeinsam müssen wir im Gespräch bleiben und uns auf unsere Kernaufgaben konzentrieren: die Balance zwischen Versorgungssicherheit und Dekarbonisierung gewährleisten und unseren Beitrag für eine stabile und nachhaltige Energiezukunft leisten. From Financial Stability to AI Innovation: Navigating the Future   In this morning's analyst and investor call I gave an overview about Unipers financial performance after the first 9 months 2024 and their underlying earning drivers. Uniper’s nine-month operating performance was stable in an increasingly normalized market environment. Therefore, I could reaffirm our outlook for the 2024 financial year that we revised upward in August. Overall, this is a gratifying performance – even if it we won’t be able to repeat this level of earnings in the years ahead.   Next to the sound financial performance we’re making progress in implementing our strategy to become a greener company. Just under 50% of the electricity we’ve produced in 2024 is zero carbon and we’re systematically implementing our coal phaseout. We decommissioned Ratcliffe-on-Soar coal-fired power plant in the United Kingdom and Heyden 4 power plant in Petershagen near Minden in Germany end of September.   Beyond the figures and numbers, our AI initiatives in the company are also noteworthy. Recently, I had the pleasure of discussing the transformative power of artificial intelligence in the energy industry in general, at Uniper, and in the realm of financial leadership with the CFO of Microsoft Germany, Christian Schaetz. Our financial results for the first 9 months of 2024 have been released! The nine-month performance gives us a confident outlook for full-year 2024. Progress is also being made in the implementation of our strategy to become a greener company. Adjusted EBITDA: €2.176 billion Payment of more than €500 million to Federal Republic of Germany from claims for damages realised against Gazprom Export. Reaffirmed forecast: in August we adjusted our outlook for the 2024 financial year to adjusted EBITDA of €1.9-2.4 billion, and adjusted net income of €1.1-1.5 billion. #financialreport #investor

I had the honour to be a part of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz‘ business delegation to India in the framework of the 7th India-Germany Intergovernmental Consultations as well as the Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business (APK) last week. Highlights were the participation in the German Chancellor's business delegation, including a CEO roundtable with German and Indian company representatives and a joint meeting and lunch with Chancellor Scholz and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as meeting Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection Robert Habeck during the Indian-German Hockey match. It was an absolute pleasure to meet the Honourable Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri and Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal to talk about potential Indo-German cooperation, the energy transition and Uniper’s ambitions to contribute to it. Together with AM Green Group we also had the chance to speak with the Honourable Minister for Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Prahlad Joshi, about our joint objective for ammonia offtake to the EU. I am very much looking forward to future Indian-German cooperations, tackling the energy transition together. Many thanks for the people of New Delhi for such a warm welcome!

Heja, Sverige! 👋   This week, I had the privilege of attending an event marking a major milestone for Uniper's NorthStarH2 project – an innovative fossil-free eFuel facility set to transform hard-to-abate sectors like transport and the chemical industry.   We’ve now taken a significant step forward by signing a grid connection agreement with Jämtkraft. The ambition behind this project, which uses renewable energy and biogenic CO2 to produce eMethanol, showcases Uniper’s commitment to decarbonizing industries that need it most.   With strong partners like Jämtkraft and Liquid Wind, and ideal conditions in Östersund – renewable energy, water, biomass and robust infrastructure – this project is set to make a real impact, with the potential to cut Sweden’s fossil CO2 emissions by recycling 160,000 tonnes of biogenic carbon dioxide per year.   I witnessed firsthand the collaboration and dedication driving this project.
