We came up with a creative way to unveil our updated core values – an end-of-year puzzle challenge! 🧩 The task? Build a 500-piece puzzle in under 2 hours. The catch? No one knew what they were creating! Teams across trivago turned this into a real-time demonstration of our values: 🤝 Trust naturally emerged as teams collaborated 🔧 Entrepreneurial passion led to creative solutions 💡 Fanatic Learning showed as teams tried new approaches Everyone raced against time with fierce (but friendly) competition. While our top three teams won prizes, the completed puzzles, revealing our new company values house design, now proudly display around our office as a reminder of this special moment. Huge thanks to everyone who participated – your enthusiasm made this event truly special!

🚀 Celebrating the achievements of the F.A.M.E. initiative in 2024! 🚀 I am filled with gratitude and pride as I reflect on the remarkable milestones achieved by the Female Ambassadors and Mentors in Engineering (F.A.M.E.) at trivago in 2024. Aware of the importance of accessible role models, we created F.A.M.E. back in 2022 as one of the initiatives supporting our goal to reach at least 30% women in tech by the end of 2024 (which we have achieved by the way!). The mission of the group is to share expertise and experiences to inspire, empower, and attract women in tech. Powered by professional public speaking training and a robust network of support, F.A.M.E. has truly reached new heights this year. Here are some of my personal highlights: 🎤 Women in Tech meetup at trivago: 🎤 We kicked off the year by organizing our first Women in Tech meetup at trivago with F.A.M.E. What I enjoyed the most? The great collaboration with internal colleagues but also with iteratec  to prepare and deliver this meetup. The diversity of speakers and topics resonated with our audience in ways I could only have hoped for. 👧 Girls Day 2024 👧 For the second year in a row, we hosted Girls Day in collaboration with Hacker School. The day was filled with coding practice, career discovery, office exploration, and fun – both for the girls and our team of volunteers on that day! Witnessing young minds light up with possibilities reminded me of the power of early encouragement. 🤝 Mentorship with ReDi School 🤝 This year we have also expanded the scope of our partnership with ReDI School of Digital Integration through a mentorship program. A group of dedicated F.A.M.E. mentors provided invaluable guidance to women enrolled in tech courses at ReDi School, helping them build confidence and supporting their professional growth in tech. 🥐 F.A.M.E for Breakfast 🥐 Last but not least, I’m excited to have launched the F.A.M.E. for breakfast online event series in September. It’s been a nurturing space where we share insights, stories and engage directly with our audience. This series is just the beginning – stay tuned for more! I am very proud of all the colleagues who have invested time and energy to these initiatives, and I want to thank our amazing F.A.M.E. members Aida Orujova, Aishwarya Nair, Andrea Fernández Fonseca, Anna Mueller, Carolina Muradas, Katherine García Cruz, Samia Ruponti, Saskia Keil, Shara S., Tatenda Emma Matika, Ruoyun Lin for their dedication and passion as well as our numerous allies and supporters. As we step into 2025, I am eager to see how F.A.M.E. will continue to evolve and inspire women in tech!

Three days of pushing limits, sharing laughs, and creating memories that'll last for a long time. Our campus looks extra festive this December🎄 Thanks to our amazing Campus Operations team for setting up five beautiful Christmas trees throughout our office spaces. A small change that's brought so much warmth and festive spirit to our daily work environment (and made our Slack explode with positive reactions from our team to this lovely surprise)! 😍 As our Campus Operations Lead at trivago Melinda shared: "Our goal was to brighten up our campus as we wrap up the year and create a cozy atmosphere for our talents."
