TATuP – Journal for Technology Assessment in Theory and Practice is the peer-reviewed and open access journal for the interdisciplinary field of technology assessment (TA) and neighboring fields of research. Its scope includes scientific research and practical as well as problem oriented findings from the interstices between technological innovation, social change and policy advice. Neighboring and overlapping fields of research are, inter alia, systems analysis, risk assessment, practical ethics, sustainability and innovation studies, science and technology studies or foresight. TATuP aims to create public outreach by addressing research findings and policy recommendations to transdisciplinary stakeholders. The concise form of peer-reviewed articles as well as the journal’s open access policy, web design, and print layout are fitted to this purpose. TATuP is edited by the Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS), the world’s largest institution for technology assessment located at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).

🌍 Wie können wir Rohstoffe nachhaltig nutzen? Unsere moderne Wirtschaft und unser Wohlstand hängen entscheidend von natürlichen Ressourcen ab, doch das hat massive Umweltfolgen. Das Buch Earth for All Deutschland stellt klar: Wir müssen ein Wirtschaftssystem schaffen, das Ressourcen schont. Dafür müssen Produktions- und Konsumstrukturen so gestaltet sein, dass genug für alle da ist – innerhalb der planetaren Grenzen. ♻️ Kreislaufwirtschaft statt lineare Ökonomie Die traditionelle "lineare Ökonomie", Rohstoffe entnehmen, verarbeiten, nutzen und dann wegwerfen, ist nicht länger tragbar. Die Lösung liegt in der Kreislaufwirtschaft: Rohstoffe sollen nicht nur effizient genutzt, sondern auch möglichst lange im Kreislauf gehalten werden. Reparieren, Wiederverwenden, Teilen, Recyceln und maßvoll Leben sind dabei Schlüsselstrategien, um unseren ökologischen Fußabdruck drastisch zu verringern. 💰 Wirtschaft im Dienste des Gemeinwohls Eine nachhaltige Wirtschaft muss mehr bieten als Profitmaximierung. Stattdessen sollte sie eine gerechte Wohlstandverteilung fördern und die Bedürfnisse aller Menschen und der Natur in Einklang bringen. Das Ziel: eine kollaborative Wirtschaft, die dem Gemeinwohl dient, eine Halbierung des Primärrohstoffverbrauchs mit einer gerechten Verteilung der Lasten und der Schaffung von suffizienten Lebensstilen. 🔑 Der Weg zu einer zirkulären Wirtschaft Der Umstieg auf zirkuläres Wirtschaften braucht die richtigen ökonomischen Anreize. Dazu gehören höhere Abgaben auf Primärrohstoffe, bessere Standards im Umweltschutz und eine Förderung von Sekundärrohstoffen. Produkte müssen reparierbar, langlebig und wiederverwertbar werden.
