WorldSkills International is emphasizing the sustainability aspect for the competition for years. The Skill Car Paining has a long history with the sustainability award and this year’s award was lead (as usual) by Global Partner Glasurit with support and cooperation from SATA. During the event, all car painting competitors were judged on their level of eco-efficiency in the paint application process, promoting excellence in sustainable practices. The car painters were encouraged to be mindful of using the precise amount of paint and related products to achieve the highest quality results, thereby enhancing eco-effectiveness for both the environment and the business. Glasurit’s Jane Niemi and Roar Solberg awarded the 3rd and 1st place, I had the honor for the second place. It was great that the winner of the sustainability competition was also the winner across all tasks. Yuto Hoshino from Japan proofed that sustainability and excellent work are not opposites, but complementary skills and a necessity for professional jobs. Second place went to Vikash from India, third place to Hui-Shan Chen from Chinese Taipei.
