    Aepvi-news (27) - Interactive 3D digital twins Over the past 10 years, we have been intensively involved in high-volume PV onsite measurements/inspections with various sensor platforms such as drones, tripods, cranes, etc., including their analysis using AI-supported software tools. We are currently developing our own interactive 3D twins in order to be able to display a wide range of imaging measurement methods such as visual inspection (VI/HDVI), infrared (IR), infrared inverse (IRinv), electroluminescence (EL), fluorescence (UV-F) as well as electrical measurement values, monitoring data, serial numbers, survey data, etc. in an appealing, clear and intuitive way for PV systems of all sizes. The aim is not just to collect/merge individual system/module data, which up to now has usually been cumbersome to select, compare and analyse. Rather, the analysed PV system should be virtually reconstructed and displayed in such a way that an interactive flight/inspection of the modules can be repeated independently at any time by system operators, plant managers, etc. The visualisation should be high-resolution, graphically appealing and operable without prior knowledge. Various layer buttons should be used to interactively show/hide corresponding measurements during the virtual inspection/flight, and to start and evaluate analyses, overviews, etc. This type of visualisation opens up completely new possibilities for the planning/implementation of inspections, training, selection of suitable measurement methods, fault analysis, etc. The demo video shows the recording of a virtual module inspection with original drone footage from a 2.2 MW project that were moved to a virtual world for data protection reasons. Other layer buttons have been hidden for simplification. The recording quality had to be reduced for the transfer to LinkedIN.
