The 1.5 degree target is now largely symbolic. The international community has pledged to limit man-made climate change to 1.5 degrees. The target is illusory: In 2024, it will be exceeded for the first time since industrialisation. This is a milestone in global temperature history. Greenhouse gas emissions were also historically high last year, and all climate parameters are pointing in the wrong direction. It is absolutely clear that global warming will continue to increase (Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research). So what now? 👉 Urgent action within companies. 👉 Partnerships across the value chain. 👉 Push for carbon removal. 👉 Put money into nature. 👉 Bring forests back to life. And understand that climate finance is not charity. Credit: NASA's Scientific Visualisation Studio #climateaction #sustainability #COP29 #nature

Nature always loses when it comes to economic interests. Is that really always the case? What solutions and, above all, what actions can companies drive forward so that nature also wins? At the drupa – no. 1 for printing technologies- I had the great pleasure of bringing together recognized experts from my network in the sustainability panel (drupa next age): Stephan Hankammer (Alanus University): "How to make companies regenerative?" https://lnkd.in/e2G3FnZB Jerome Cochet (goodcarbon): "How to confidently deliver on your net zero and nature positive commitments through high quality carbon credits." https://lnkd.in/eCDUuxxm Andreas Peter Asel (Epson): "Closing the resource loop in the print industry." https://lnkd.in/e8RZv_x3 Henning Ohlsson (Ohlsson Consulting): "From a holistic approach to changing actions." https://lnkd.in/ev2fuEjF Please see all keynotes on YouTube. Of course, this is not good news. What do we see here? The change in the distribution of land temperature anomalies over the years 1963 to 2023. A simulation by NASA Scientific Visualization Studio. Plotting the warming or cooling of the Earth's temperature against a norm is an important way to visualize climate change. It wobbles back and forth, but shifts further and further to the right over time and becomes wider. Greenhouse gas emissions are the dominant issue in all of this. It is time for urgent environmental action and a switch to renewable energy. Seiko Epson Corporation has some good news to announce and is delivering on its commitments. The company has now switched to 100% renewable electricity at all its sites worldwide. https://lnkd.in/gb6CpC_K #Climate #climatechange #climateaction #sustainability #nachhaltigkeit

Enso - awareness and mindfulness. Enso, the circle in Japanese calligraphy, and the concept of the circular economy have strong links. Sustainability and circularity: Enso emphasises unity with the universe and nature. The circular economy strives for a sustainable economic model in which products, materials and resources flow in closed loops to minimise waste and reduce environmental impact. The Enso circle is represented by simple, minimal strokes, indicating the beauty of simplicity. Similarly, the circular economy strives for simplicity and minimalism. #circulareconomy #environment #environmentalimpact #sustainability #nachhaltigkeit #japan #businessmodel c HO
