Exciting milestone in Toronto! 🌟 Our Canadian joint venture, CLS Catering Services, is proud to announce the successful launch of services for Qatar Airways' second Canadian destination at Toronto (YYZ) as of December 11, 2024. ✈️ Operating three flights a week on the YYZ-DOH route, Qatar Airways brings the world’s best airline experience to Toronto with their iconic B777 Qsuite Aircraft. This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible efforts of the Toronto CLS team. With only a month's notice, the startup was executed seamlessly, reflecting exceptional teamwork and collaboration. 🚛 Exciting News from Cairo! ✈️ We’re thrilled to announce that our Cairo team has expanded its fleet with four brand-new CT6000 highloader catering trucks! These state-of-the-art vehicles are set to boost both capacity and efficiency as we continue to grow and elevate our operations. Our General Manager Stefan Doenni, CFO Nabil Raouf, and Operations Manager Mahmoud Maarouf recently visited Mallaghan’s headquarters in Northern Ireland to finalize the acquisition. They also secured vital spare parts to ensure our current fleet of 11 trucks—including two CT6000s—remains in peak condition. 📊 Some quick highlights: ✔️ The unit is delivering 12,000 meals daily to 50 aircraft—double our pre-pandemic levels. ✔️ The new trucks have cutting-edge features like a MAN TGM 15.250 chassis, Mallaghan scissors with hydraulic stabilizers, insulated GRP panels and an anti-collision system required by customer Egyptair. ✔️ Plans to expand further in 2025 with a specialized truck for B737 front galleys. “This investment is about more than replacing old vehicles,” said GM Stefan Doenni. “It’s about expanding our capabilities as we grow and reaffirming our commitment to safety, quality, and exceptional service for our valued customers.” 👏 A big thank you to everyone involved in making this happen! Recently, our chefs from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa came together in India for a unique conference that celebrated both the artistry and tradition of Indian cuisine. As Nicholas Vass, Head of Culinary Experience for our region, shared: “The conference was a two-and-a-half-day journey, steeped in the sensory wonders of Indian food culture. From bustling factories filled with aromatic spices to kitchens buzzing with fresh ingredients, our chefs delved into both the art and tradition of Indian cooking. The focus was on experiencing the country’s culinary diversity, with a particular emphasis on the bold flavors of South India and the hearty, spice-laden dishes of the North.” Beyond the culinary explorations, the conference provided a much-needed space for knowledge sharing. Ready on day one at the new Luanda airport A huge congratulations to our exceptional local team in Luanda, Angola, for their remarkable achievement in having LSG Sky Chefs TAAG Angola Catering operational on Day One at the brand-new Dr. Antonio Agostinho Neto International Airport (NBJ)—with just three months of preparation! On November 10, we began servicing four daily domestic flights for TAAG Angola, connecting Luanda to Cabinda. These flights, operated using De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400 aircraft, marked the first step in NBJ's journey as the new hub for the capital city. Located 40 km southeast of downtown Luanda, NBJ will soon handle all regional and international flights starting in March 2025, as per a presidential decree. A special thank-you to General Manager Darima Dashinamzhilova and her outstanding team for their tireless work, dedication and ability to meet tight deadlines. Their efforts ensure that we always deliver seamless, high-quality catering services.
