Post 3/100- Expansion with Exceptional Attributes 🔆We are expanding HimiDipi Team with DaF experts and intercultural trainers. We are doing it for third time since we started language services at HimiDipi and here is how we do it differently. 🌐With the job post at LinkedIn we got amazing 85 applications from as far as Brazil, Argentina, Western Sahara, Japan, China in addition to many European countries. As exciting it is to get to know the DaF experts from all over the world, it means busy times for us interviewing the prospective HimiDipi members. 💁♀️What three attributes we look for in the candidates besides the right credentials like degree in German and intercultural studies and teaching experience- 1️⃣Empathy and Motivation- Expats are mostly busy professionals with family and work commitments and learning German after work hours is not easy. They could be having troubles completing home assignments, concentrating in class and following the lessons. ✴️You as trainer should bring an empathetic approach to the lessons such as let students talk about their hardships in German instead of traditional assignments but all this while using the language concepts being taught in the class to increase the learner's engagement and improve the learning outcomes. 2️⃣ Experimental and Individualized approach- we have had expat clients living in Germany for more than 10 years with multiple unsuccessful attempts at learning the language and this expat focused language school HimiDipi was their last hope to reach language goals. ✴️As trainer you customize the course material for German learners considering their German environment, their German knowledge and their language goals. 3️⃣ Diverse and Inclusive Spaces in Course- A course dealing with foreign language and culture should incorporate others' cultures by inviting expats to share about their lives, homeland and festivals in German. ✴️ My golden rule of thumb is to start the class with always 10-15 mins of narrating our own day, family life, friends, country etc. Creating this 15 mins of personal connection works as charm for the rest of 2-3 hours of classroom learning. 👋Do let me know in comments- How do you recruit new talents, what do you look for and how we could do it better? Always eager to learn from LinkedIn community and grow. #expatingermany ##learngerman #learngermanonline #deutschlernen #deutschlernenonline #expatlife #mompreneur #momingermany

HimiDipi goes to EU-Startups Summit happening in Malta on 9th and 10th May. 🙋♀️ Inviting startup enthusiasts, investors and businesses with sustainable community and social impact as their passion to hit us up for chats at the events.

As I complete living 10 years as an expat in Europe, this is my 10th expatriate anniversary gift to myself by attending 10th edition of annual EU-Startups Summit. As a mompreneur, its an exciting opportunity for me to be at the biggest startup festival in Europe and network with startup enthusiasts, investors and businesses. It's time to grow, unlearn and learn so much about entrepreneurship at this 2 day event. This event is being organized in Malta, which I love for sandy beaches and vibes but it's close to my heart due to its inviting policies for expats. With 100,000 foreign residents living in Malta in 2021, it makes up nearly 20% of the population. Expats' well being and sustainable communities being the focus of our work at HimiDipi, it's gonna be an amazing experience and learning for me and my team members by attending EU-Startups Summit in the heart of Malta. #startupsummit #eustartups #mompreneur #HimiDipi #expatcommunity #expatineurope #sustainability

It's amazing to see how cultures and community come together and create special spaces for generations to come. Expat community is lucky to celebrate many festivals, some from their own culture and some from where they are living and lived in past. One such festival is New Year, calculated differently in different regions and also celebrated in unique ways. Do you also have another day marked for New Year (other than 1st Jan) in your culture and how do you celebrate it? #celebration ##interculturalcommunication

Happy New Year-Happy Poila Baisakh- Subho Noboborsho No I am not late in wishing new year or celebrating it but this is Bengali New Year that I am celebrating with my Bengali husband and our 19 months old daughter ♥️ While Gregorian calendar is used as calendar system in the most parts of world and 1st Jan was the first day of year for us, some cultures follow their own lunar and solar calendars and celebrate festivities according to them (in India alone we have multiple New Year Festivals in different regions) 🎉It seems like living in special times, where cultures come together and increase the fun and festivities and our lives imbibe their significance. The Bengali New Year turned out to be more special this time as we got to celebrate it with Bangladeshi community living in Bayern. We got to taste some authentic Bangladeshi cuisine, converse in Bengali and sing together for the new beautiful beginnings. 🎊These are the days when one wishes the world could see how colorful Co-Existing is where a Non-Bengali Me celebrates Bengali New Year with her Bengali husband and Bengali and Bangladeshi community with German partners and friends in small city of Augsburg in Germany. #happynewyear #poilabaisakh #bengalinewyear #expats #expatingermany #interculturalcommunication

The helpful tip from expat parent for expat parents to keep kids engaged and your German refreshed at the same time 😃
Communication is key to integration 🌏, Educator turned Entrepreneur, Expat Founder and Mompreneur leading social impact startup for expat community
This is a tip for expats parents in Germany from an expat parent 😃 (also the most loved post in HimiDipi expat community last week) City library (Stadtbibliothek) for kids 📚 If you are a parent struggling to keep infants engaged at home in this rainy weather, here is a tip from a new parent to keep your kids as well as yourself entertained 😀 Every city library near you has a huge collection of children's books (also in english) as well as a playarea dedicated to children to play, explore and find new friends. I have been coming here since my daughter turned one and we love being here. It's time for me to catch up on my reading or just relax watching her play. 👉Please do not forget to check out Bilderbuecher (books with pics and less text- see one in attached image). Even if you are just German A1, you can practice your German, learn and teach new words to your kid too. But main thing is to have fun and explore new spaces for yourself and your kid. You will certainly find new parent friends too 😊. Do drop more tips in comments below for this new parent 🙏 Inspiring Integration through Communication, HimiDipi #expats #Germany #expatingermany #Integration #interculturalcommunication

2023- I am born as parent I had my first child in late 2022 and I kept working till delivery. The first few months postpartum seemed like breeze with baby sleeping most of the time, partner taking care of household and I could still run the horses of entrepreneurship. 2023 is a whole new calendar of my life with every month defining milestones of my baby and work hours reducing gradually. We got no Kita for kid but that was the best thing that could have happened as I am the fortunate parent to not to miss any moments of my baby's life. Looking back at 2023, I would love to go back to first smile again, first syllables, first crawl, first fall and all first evers. Nothing I would want to change about this magical year and thank all my clients, collaboration partners and especially HimiDipi Team for understanding my erratic routine, late responses and baby accompanying me to every meeting. What was defining moments of 2023 for you? share in comments! We started our year 2024 in the 'paradise on earth- Kashmir' and send you all late wishes from this beautiful place. #mompreneur #mompreneurlife #motherhoodjourney
