Finally, one crucial question remains for the last post within our series: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝗜 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝘆 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻? Choosing the right torque transducer depends on several factors, including the requirements of your specific application. You should answer the following questions: ❓ What’s the highest torque load I expect in my application? The sensor must be designed for the expected load, so the measuring range is a major factor in choosing the right sensor. ❓ In which accuracy range am I in with my application? Not every application requires high accuracy. However, this must be determined before selecting the right sensor. ❓ Which environmental conditions do I have? Part 4 of our series has already looked at this point in more detail. Decisive aspects here include temperature, humidity, pressure and vibration. ❓ What type of mounting do I need for my application? Options here include flange mounting, shaft mounting and voltage or pressure measurement. ❓ What type of signal transmission do I need? The signal transmission of the torque transducer must be suitable for your application, for example analog or digital. Mal ein etwas anderer Arbeitstag in ein paar Bildern zusammengefasst... Heute durfte ich meine Komfortzone verlassen und habe mich den Fragen des Publikums bei ZwickRoell gestellt. War ich nervös? Ja, aber ich hatte eine super Unterstützung vor Ort dabei. 🙏🏼Danke Michael Kadziela für deinen Zuspruch! Und auch dir Marcel Richter danke ich für den Support aus dem Urlaub 🏖️heraus! Danach kam die 💪🏼körperliche Arbeit - Messestand aufbauen. Mit dem richtigen Team (der Dank gilt Maximilian Lindemann und Andreas Zörner) war das recht schnell erledigt. Bei all dem durfte der Spaß aber auch nicht zu kurz kommen 😉 Und natürlich ging das alles auch nur Dank der Unterstützung zu Hause🏡. 💡 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰𝘀 - 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝟰 Every transducer is subject to certain limitations, whether in terms of the torque for which it is designed or its area of application. Another aspect that we want to take a closer look at today are the environmental restrictions that apply to our transducers. The aspects to be considered in this context are generally protection against the ingress of solids and liquids as well as temperature sensitivity. 🌡️ 𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: Our standard torque transducers are all designed for the temperature range +10°C to +60°C, but can also withstand higher temperatures depending on the transducer. In general, the overall technical limits are 🧊 -40°C and +180°C 🔥, due to physical limitation of transducer materials and components. ☄️ 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝘀: Due to their design, our torque transducers are not sealed as standard. They are therefore protected against dust (IP54). 💧 𝗟𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗱𝘀: GTM torque transducers are for non-rotating measurements and therefore openly installed. This makes them resistant against splashing water (IP54). Due to the choice of steel and protection of electronic parts in the transducer, humidity has no impact, either in terms of corrosion nor for the quality of the measurement signals. 📢 Our standard doesn’t meet your needs?
