Last week, Global Wind Service had the pleasure of hosting a networking session at our office in Fredericia for the Denmark - North America Onshore and Offshore Wind Platform, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark and a delegation from the Danish Embassy in the US, including the Danish Ambassador, Jesper Møller Sørensen. A special thanks to Denmarks US Ambassador, Jesper Møller Sørensen for facilitating such a productive session and leading the discussions that provided invaluable insights into the potential impact of the recent US election on our industry. It is evident that the business outlook within Renewable in the US come with many questions right now, but it was also clear that the US market will remain full of opportunities if you can adapt as a company. Our own reflections and key takeaways from the presentation and discussions: - The US is expected to be a growth market, and the need for Energy in general will only increase. We can expect that this includes energy from wind turbines and renewable energy. - Related to point one, Onshore wind is not expected to be impacted significant by the administration change as the onshore industry is also well established representing a large amount of job and US based production facilities. - As for Offshore wind it is expected that the projects already under construction will continue, whereas there is more uncertainty about the timing of future projects which might be impacted or delayed. But at the same time, we must remember that US has 52 states and some states that voted for the new administration are in favor for and have offshore wind projects planned. - The importance of local presence and workforce in the US will be a competitive advantage more than before, so GWS is well-positioned with a strong local presence and competences across Installation, Repowering, Service and Blade repair Onshore as well as Offshore. So we will remain focused on strengthening this footprint further and maintain a diversified portfolio, particularly with service opportunities in mind. We’re grateful for the opportunity to exchange perspectives with the Danish Embassy in the US and the other participating companies. As we approach the end of the year and we continue Our Christmas Campaign where we highlight the incredible work done by our Teams across the world. Let’s take a look at GWS #UK and their 2024 achievements: The UK unit was named a Strategic Partner for Vestas Offshore Service NCE in 2024—an achievement shared by only one other company in Europe. Successfully commenced servicing of the RWE Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm. Completed an upgrades project on the Moray East Offshore Wind Farm. Achieved installation milestones, including 49 Vestas WTGs at North Kyle Onshore Wind Farm and 3 Nordex WTGs at Rigmuir Onshore Wind Farm. Delivered results on the Blade Adventure Project at the Burbo Bank Extension and Walney Extension Offshore Wind Farms. The UK team relocated to an office in Lowestoft, creating a more dynamic and collaborative workspace and sponsored two junior football teams. Also, Uk team member welcomed a new addition to their family. We’re proud of their achievements and look forward to continuing this momentum into the new year. As part of our ongoing Christmas campaign, we are excited to share some highlights from our team in Romania! This year, Global Wind Service in Romania successfully completed the installation wind turbines as part of the Medgidia project. To celebrate International Safety Day, our Romanian office employees participated in a First Aid course, reinforcing our commitment to a safe and supportive work environment. On top of that, our Romanian team celebrated family values with our “Drawing Contest for Your Children!”, where one of the winners was the child of a colleague from GWS Romania. Let’s take a look at GWS #Germany and their 2024 achievements: • Onshore Success: Installation and maintenance work across Germany with three service teams. • Offshore Milestone: Kicked off a three-year service project with RWE in May, covering Projects in German and British waters. • Team Growth: German team Welcomed Christine to the HR team in August, completing their strong back-office crew. • Team Spirit: Strengthened bonds through a challenging offshore training session and team cooking event in November.
