We're pleased to announce that registrations for the Green Game Jam 2025 are now open - with more details about the theme and ask for this year available. Nature is critical for all life on Earth. The rich web of ecosystems that make up the natural world are vital for clean air, fresh water, medicines, fuel sources, food security, and even climate stability. Currently, only 15% of land, 15% of freshwaters, and 8% of ocean are protected from human activity. In the sixth edition of the Green Game Jam we are playing and campaigning for nature. To do this, studios are challenged to build an emotional connection between their players and nature, thinking carefully about what kind of activation will work best for their game and audience. Playing for the Planet will support with knowledge sharing through specialist workshops, fact sheets, and weekly drop-in Q&As, a mentorship programme where there is a large enough interest - and of course, our end-of-project awards. You can access the full details, including insights into key dates and an outline of the player/studio journey, here: https://lnkd.in/ejaTruiw You can sign up for the Green Game Jam 2025 here: https://lnkd.in/eFcvKzZq For any questions, please contact Lisa Pak or Louisa Keight.

game team goes Cologne: membership meeting & Deutscher Entwicklerpreis The last few days have been exciting for our team: first we held our 15th general assembly where our members gathered both digitally and in person at the Koelnmesse GmbH. It was a fantastic opportunity to discuss the most important topics in our industry and within our association, as well as to network and connect with peers. It's always a highlight for us to have a chat with our members 😊. For some of our new colleagues, it was their first general assembly, making it even more special. The second part of the day was dedicated to the Deutscher Entwicklerpreis (German Developer Award). We proudly co-sponsored the "Best Indie Game" category alongside Koelnmesse. Congratulations to "Dungeons of Hinterberg" from Microbird Games & Curve Games for winning this category and enjoy the gamescom package worth €12,000! A heartfelt and huge thank you to everyone involved at Deutscher Entwicklerpreis (games.nrw, devcom, NerdStar UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Staatskanzlei des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen, Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, KölnBusiness Wirtschaftsförderung, Quinke Networks GmbH, Kristin Janulik, Benedikt Grindel, Viola Tensil, Daniel Budiman, Lynne Glaner & so many others) for this wonderful evening. This event is always a highlight for our team and we love seeing so many familiar faces come together to celebrate awesome games. Congratulations to the winners. See you next year!
