The field of medical engineering is one of the key research priorities at FAU – more than 150 professors and lecturers are active within this field at the university and were integral in the founding of the Profile Area Medical Engineering (FAU MT) in January 2023. All activities in this research area are combined by FAU MT to further develop the network and expertise within and beyond the university and to ensure a more transparent public image of this highly dynamic field at FAU. The core responsibilities of FAU MT include networking its numerous members with additional stakeholders in medical engineering, supporting interdisciplinary research projects, offering educational programs in Medical Device Regulation and in partnership with EIT Health, and providing support for securing external grant funding.

[#SCIFI2024] 🏁 Today is the start of 2 intensive days marking the final event of the EIT Health SCI FI 2024 programme hosted by Gdański Uniwersytet Medyczny (Medical University of Gdańsk) in Gdansk, Poland! 🗨️ This morning participants benefitted from recruitment tips and entry opportunities presented by Kathrin Huber from Boehringer Ingelheim and were able to have first-hand advice from the consortium on their CVs. 🛠️ SCI FI participants were assigned real-life cases from our industry partners at the beginning of the programme. Tomorrow, each team will pitch their solutions and be challenged in front of an industry panel: Boehringer Ingelheim and Roche Česká republika. 🎉These two days will be denoted by entertaining visits and it will also be the opportunity to level up industry #networking and #recruitment opportunities for our participants. It was the opportunity to assess the amazing progress since the programme’s kick-off in August. 🌍 Out of the 98 participants, a total of 35 researchers (9 nationalities) are currently enrolled in the Full Programme ! ✍️ Through 7 modules and 5 bonus courses, the SCI FI programme is giving young researchers the skills needed to transition and thrive as an innovator in the healthcare industry. 🙌 Looking forward to seeing everyone during the final event on 2nd to 4th December in Gdansk, Poland, and all the amazing solutions they found to solve case providers’ challenges !
