Last week, we welcomed eight new team members to the cylib team! 💚 With their arrival, we’ve surpassed the 80-employee mark and are on track to reach 100 team members soon. The cylib team is multi-faceted, with a wide range of skills, personal interests, educational backgrounds, and perspectives. From chemical and process engineers to finance and public affairs experts, our blend of viewpoints fuels our creative problem-solving and strengthens our cross-departmental collaboration. 🧠 Our newest cohort exemplifies this blend, joining a total of five teams: Industrialization, Finance, Hydrometallurgy, Public Affairs, and Founders Office. Welcome Rebekka Mueller, Moritz Kuck, Sara Ognjanovic, Florian Heinrich, Sarah Prickartz, Michael Gummersbach, Muhammad Haseeb Aamir, and Dieter Strehlau! Together, we will advance our mission to scale our technology at our industrial facility and supply Europe with sustainable, secondary raw materials. 🙌 Faces behind cylib: Lea Kirchmann 🙌 As an Office Culture Manager, Lea Kirchmann manages the daily office operations, ensuring that the workspace is functional, comfortable, and conducive to collaboration. Her personal focus lies in creating a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment. Her responsibilities include organizing team events and strengthening and building team connections. Additionally, she supports employee well-being, ensuring that everyone feels valued and heard. What makes you passionate about office culture management? 💡 I’m passionate about company culture because I believe that a positive environment is key to both personal and professional success. When employees feel supported and motivated, they bring their best selves to work, which leads to innovation, collaboration, and overall company growth. Creating a culture where people are not just coworkers but part of a community drives my passion, as it has a lasting impact on the team’s happiness and productivity. What do you enjoy about working at cylib? ♻️ At cylib, I love the dynamic and forward-thinking atmosphere. The team is driven by a shared mission to make a real difference in the industry, and that energy is contagious. What is your personal vision of cylib? 🚀 My personal vision for cylib is for the company to grow into an industry leader, not only known for its innovations but also for its sustainable and forward-thinking solutions. I envision cylib as a place where everyone enjoys working, feels respected, and can freely share their ideas. My goal is to create an environment where people feel inspired and motivated to achieve great things together. cylib should be recognized not just for its technological advancements, but also for its positive impact on society and the environment. What is your favorite song or genre? 🎵 It’s hard to pinpoint a specific music taste since I enjoy almost every genre. However, a song I can never hear enough of is "Sky and Sand" by Paul Kalkbrenner. It’s definitely one of my all-time favorite tracks. What life motto do you try to live by? 🤘 I firmly believe that respect and empathy are the foundation for a peaceful coexistence. I would love to help everyone, as I’m convinced that small acts of kindness can lead to great change. Startup Germany Summit 🚀 Hosted by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), the Startup Germany Summit serves as a pivotal platform that brings together startups, policymakers, and venture capitalists to explore strategies for empowering and advancing the German startup ecosystem. Our CEO, Dr. Lilian Schwich, was invited to represent cylib as a panelist in the session: “Building a Deep Tech Powerhouse: Transforming Germany and Europe into Global Deep Tech Leaders.” Dr. Lilian Schwich was joined by cylib investor and DTCF | DeepTech & Climate Fonds Managing Director Tobias Faupel, SCHUNK - Hand in hand for tomorrow's Technology and Innovation Expert Martin May, and Techstars Berlin Managing Director Martin Schilling. Together, they delved into the critical challenges and opportunities within the German deep tech ecosystem, focusing on the essential growth conditions for cleantech startups. 📈 The event represented a remarkable opportunity to address critical initiatives in the federal government’s startup strategy, featuring keynote speeches from Olaf Scholz, Chancellor of Germany, Robert Habeck, Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, and Christian Lindner, Federal Minister of Finance.
