Exciting News! How much do you understand about investment screening in The Netherlands? We are thrilled to announce that Ivo Nobel will be joining us as a trainer at the upcoming CELIS Thought Leaders Programme in Belgium! 🇧🇪 Ivo Nobel is head of the Netherlands Bureau for Investment Screening (BTI) at the Ministry of Economic Affairs. He founded the bureau in 2020 after 15 years of experience at the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets. After studying Economics, Ivo began his PhD research into the influence of the internet on the positions and functions of intermediary companies, before moving to the merger control department at the Dutch competition authority. He was involved in the assessment of several of the largest telecom mergers in the Netherlands. In 2019, he switched from protecting competition to protecting national security. Since its inception, the BTI has been responsible for the investment screening in the Netherlands of vital companies and companies with sensitive technologies.
