Researchers have built the world’s first bifacial PV window, designed to generate electricity while providing overheating protection for better indoor thermal and visual comfort. 🌍🌿 Key Outcomes of COP29 for Renewable Energy Transition COP29 delivered progress in the global energy transition with three pivotal pledges: 1️⃣ Global Energy Storage and Grids Pledge - this pledge sets ambitious targets, including adding 1,500 GW of energy storage capacity by 2030 and refurbishing/building 25 million kilometers of transmission grids. These steps are critical for integrating renewables and addressing energy variability. 2️⃣ Green Energy Zones and Corridors Pledge - countries committed to creating green energy zones and corridors, connecting renewable energy production with consumption centers. This initiative aims to enhance the secure and cost-effective transmission of renewables across long distances. 3️⃣ Hydrogen Declaration - endorsers committed to scale up renewable and low-carbon hydrogen production while phasing out fossil-based hydrogen. This move supports clean hydrogen technologies as a cornerstone of global decarbonization.
