We are happy to share 𝘾𝙀𝙎𝘼𝙍𝙀 𝘿𝙀𝙑𝙀 𝙈𝙊𝙍𝙄𝙍𝙀, a compelling documentary by legendary Italian filmmakers Paolo and Vittorio Taviani. Set in the Roman maximum-security prison Rebibbia, this film follows inmates as they rehearse and perform Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. Through their participation, the prisoners explore themes of power, betrayal, and violence, blurring the lines between their lives and the timeless narrative of the play. 𝙋𝘼𝙊𝙇𝙊 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙑𝙄𝙏𝙏𝙊𝙍𝙄𝙊 𝙏𝘼𝙑𝙄𝘼𝙉𝙄 were iconic directors, known for their poetic approach to filmmaking. Their works, including Padre Padrone and The Night of the Shooting Stars, have earned them global recognition, including the Palme d’Or and the Golden Bear. 𝘾𝙀𝙎𝘼𝙍𝙀 𝘿𝙀𝙑𝙀 𝙈𝙊𝙍𝙄𝙍𝙀 was awarded the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2012, further solidifying their legacy in world cinema. We are thrilled to present 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝘽𝙍𝙄𝙉𝙆 𝙊𝙁 𝘿𝙍𝙀𝘼𝙈𝙎, a powerful documentary co-directed by Egyptian filmmakers Nada Riyadh and Ayman El Amir. Set in a remote village in southern Egypt, this film follows a group of young girls as they challenge societal norms by forming an all-female street theater troupe. Their dream of becoming performers tests the boundaries of their traditional community, as they transition from childhood to adulthood while navigating their most life-defining decisions. 𝙉𝘼𝘿𝘼 𝙍𝙄𝙔𝘼𝘿𝙃 and 𝘼𝙔𝙈𝘼𝙉 𝙀𝙇 𝘼𝙈𝙄𝙍 are award-winning filmmakers, known for their debut documentary 𝙃𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙡𝙮 𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝘼𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙧, which premiered at IDFA 2016.
