According to Phoenix Australia, the symptoms of PTSD can include: "... reliving the event through unwanted memories, flashbacks or nightmares, avoiding places, people or activities that bring back the event, having negative emotions such as fear, anger, guilt or numbness, being constantly alert for danger, being easily startled and taking risks." Phoenix Australia has provided the following tips for recovering from trauma: - Recognise you have been through something awful, and give yourself permission to feel how you feel, but also remember your strengths and have confidence that you will get through it. - Rest, even if you can't sleep, eat nutritious meals and exercise. Physical and mental health are linked. - Plan your days and schedule at least one pleasurable or meaningful activity for each. - Avoid making major life decisions in the weeks after the event. But make as many small decisions as you can to restore your feeling of control. - If you are still having difficulties more than two weeks after the event, contact your GP for further help. First Peoples Disability Network (FPDN) and Mob4Mob unreservedly condemn the Queensland Government’s Adult Crime Adult Time “Making Queensland Safer Bill 2024”. FPDN and Mob4Mob share the position that the Bill is a major Human Rights violation, which will disproportionally affect First Nations Young people, including those with disability. Ongoing systemic racism and ablism informs the overcriminalisation of First Nations children, combined with a lack of disability diagnosis access and supports. Because of this, under the “Making Queensland Safer Bill 2024” First Nations children with disability will disproportionally be subjected to violations of their human rights. “When our children have contact with the justice system at a young age, it directly increases the likelihood of future institutionalisation and imprisonment, not only for them, but the next generation as well”, says FPDN’s Head of Policy, Woppaburra woman, Tahlia-Rose Vanissum. “It is horrific that under this new law, there is the potential for a 10-year-old First Nations child with a disability to be given a mandatory sentence of 20 years. This is an abhorrent scenario, and consequently, FPDN unreservedly condemns this Bill in its entirety” says FPDN CEO, Worimi man Damian Griffis. Every child born brings hope, showing that God is not disappointed with humanity. My illusions will eventually turn into joy, and my desires will ripen into the fruits of love. The Spirit's Healing Power:- When we fully embrace the spirit, it heals the divide between thought and life. This leads to a joyful fusion and oneness. The spirit provides greater truth and vision, as well as a richer life. It is not just the core of our consciousness and knowledge, but the essence of our entire existence. Discovering our true self and the essence of things is not about escaping into thought, but about finding the full power of our existence. Engaging with the manifestations of Divine Will and Collections of Proofs of Gods is more than just thinking about them. These explorations become journeys of self-discovery and spiritual growth. They help us understand life's mysteries, achieve inner peace, and discover the profound beauty that exists in the world.

Amaze welcomes the NDIS Amendment (Getting the NDIS Back on Track – No.1) Bill as a first step towards NDIS reform. We understand that the Bill mostly contains enabling legislation, with legislative powers to create rules and exercise other powers to give effect to, or a legislative framework for the reforms. However, we are concerned that the proposed definition of NDIS Supports in section 10 of the Bill is unduly narrow and will limit choice and control over reasonable and necessary, evidence-informed supports for Autistic participants. We recommend that the Australian Government review the proposed definition of NDIS supports and consider including supports necessary to enable participants to live and be included in the home, as well as the community. Additionally, we strongly propose that the Review and development of the definition of NDIS Supports be undertaken in co-design with people with disability, including a diverse representation of Autistic people and the wider sector. A Co-design Framework for all next steps to be taken under the Act (including the development of rules, needs assessments and budget models etc.,) should be attached to the Bill and tabled in parliament. A long-awaited review of police resources and policing in Australia’s Northern Territory has called for an increase in officer numbers, a building programme for remote facilities, better resource management and a fatigue management plan for officers, after what review author and former Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services (NTPF) officer Vince Kelly, APM described as a “decade-long period of organisational trauma”, as Policing Insight’s Sarah Gibbons reports. ❝Crucial to improvements within the force are an overhaul of data governance, the introduction of a resourcing model after 50 years of calls to address the issue, and the recruitment of additional staff.❞ ❝As the most significant group quitting NTPF are experienced officers between the ranks of constable first class and sergeant, strategies to retain them and recruit other officers should be ‘a major priority for NTPF in the short to medium term,’ said the review.❞ ❝A deputy chief executive would, the review indicated, ‘provide the organisation with the established skills and leadership to address these pressing issues, providing a strategic focus that will benefit the agency over the medium and long term’.❞ ❝Without the urgent implementation of a fatigue management policy, health and wellbeing of members across the NT is compromised.
