O nás
The European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel was established as a charity in 1996 in London to lead and support all European countries in the efforts to prevent and treat pressure ulcers. The mission of the association is to provide the relief of persons suffering from or at risk of pressure ulcers. This is primarily done through research and education, as well as advocacy activities aiming to promote an adequate patient centred and cost effective pressure ulcer care throughout Europe. The core activities of EPUAP are: • The EPUAP annual meeting: gathering clinical care practitioners, researchers and industry. • The Pressure Ulcer Guidelines: Developed in cooperation with NPIAP (National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel). New version is launched every 5 years. • The EPUAP Focus Meeting: Held on a bi-annual basis and with a specific theme within the field of pressure ulcers. • The EPUAP Masterclass: Held on a bi-annual basis for a smaller group of people with many hands-on workshops and discussions. • Promotion of the Stop Pressure Ulcer Day in cooperation with local wound care societies and industry. • Research and development of educational tools: EPUAP has been involved in several research projects and educational activities in cooperation with different national or regional associations. E.g., development of the Pressure Ulcer Classification tool, PUCLAS.

🛑 Each year, EPUAP organizes Stop Pressure Ulcer Day on the 3rd Thursday of November to raise awareness and share knowledge about pressure ulcers. This year’s event took place on November 21, 2024. Pressure ulcers are areas of skin and underlying tissue damage caused by prolonged pressure. People with limited mobility are at a higher risk of developing them. We would like to thank everyone who participated in #StopPUDay and organized events in their facilities. Your dedication to stopping #pressureulcers is truly inspiring!
