    During this presentation I addressed matters related to trading in MENA region starting from the simple steps a credit and risk manager takes in identifying the customer (KYC Know Your Customer), exploring means of finding out information about a customer or a potential one from the MENA, identifying fraudulent companies, the importance of Compliance checks and avoid dealing with sanctioned entities or those owned by criminals or entities associated with the financing of terrorism, cultural difference faced when doing business with the MENA and highlighting some of the issues associated with obtaining information from the region, addressing the filing requirements as well as information dissemination by the public authorities of the region.

My presentation was for an update on the MENA region including the current security situation and sanctions across the different countries. Other items covered in my presentation included the financial filing requirements of local companies, the various sources of information that are currently available and the main cultural differences between the MENA region and other parts of the world when conducting business or obtaining business information from the region.

    Addressed MENA business information issues in relation to AML (Anti Money Laundering) to a group of over 130 executives mainly Compliance and AML Officers as well as Relationship Mangers of DFSA (Dubai Financial Services Authority) licensed entities as well as UAE, Gulf and Middle East operating finance and banking institutions.
