Our prime objectives are: • Conduct basic and applied research in the field of the computational mechanics of multifunctional materials, nanotechnology, and Energy. • Development and improvement of multifunctional materials technology. • Education and training of students, scientists, and engineers in the domain of multifunctional structures, nanotechnology, and Energy. • Establish cooperation in the field of education, research, and development with various organizations both nationally and internationally and collaborate to enable innovations through research projects and shared facilities. Our research has mainly focused on the following topics, • Implementation of strong numerical methods at nano to macro scales structures. • Preparation of polymer and ceramic composites/nanocomposites structures from natural or synthetic fibers via different processes. • Conducting standard experiments to obtain relevant mechanical behaviors as well as material properties characterizations. • Electro-thermomechanical behavior of piezo electromechanical smart materials. • Combination of experimental analyses and computational models for model verification and develop novel advanced multifunctional materials focusing on the above areas. • Novel electrode materials of next-generation Lithium-Ion Batteries.
