On December 5th, 2024, the second RE-GreenVOCs project meeting took place at the University of Cyprus - Department of Chemistry. The meeting brought together CyRIC (HO), the University of Cyprus (PA1), the Open University of Cyprus (PA2), and the South Nicosia Idalion Municipality (PA3) to review the significant progress achieved during the first six months and to discuss the next steps of the project. We were honored to welcome the Agricultural Research Institute-Cyprus as a third-party attendee, underscoring the increasing interest and anticipated impact of RE-GreenVOCs. Key milestones have already been reached, showcasing the project’s holistic approach to municipal woody waste management. Notable advancements include the conversion of woody waste into biochar for reuse in agricultural applications, with a particular focus on controlling odorous VOC emissions from manure. The Project is funded by the European Union Recovery and Resilience Facility of the #NextGenerationEU instrument, through the Research and Innovation Foundation. 🌟 Coding for Space Exploration: Inspiring the Next Generation! 🚀 Today, the i:Lab - Innovation Lab, in collaboration with the Young Professionals community of Amdocs Cyprus, delivered an exciting session for 8th and 9th-grade students titled: "Introduction to Astro Pi: Coding for Space Exploration." We guided the students through the basics of Python programming, and they created their own images by coding Astro Pi simulators. The enthusiasm and creativity they showed were truly inspiring. Through insightful questions and innovative ideas, these young minds quickly absorbed new knowledge and turned it into action. Our mission - to motivate them to participate in the 'Mission Zero' competition, where students should send a message to the International Space Station via Astro Pi. 🌌 The results?
