Welcome to Krishna and Godavari Basin Organization, KGBO

Krishna Godavari Basin Organisation (KGBO) is one of the thirteen regional organisations of the Central Water Commission. It is a field unit of the River Management(RM) Wing. The organisation is headed by a Chief Engineer and consists of two field Circles each headed by a Superintending Engineer and two Monitoring and Appraisal Directorates each headed by a Director.
The organisation is responsible for collection, compilation, storage and retrieval of hydrological and hydrometerological data including water quality monitoring, formulation and issue of flood forecast on Krishna and Godavari Rivers and inflow forecasts for selected important reservoirs, river morphology studies.
Monitoring and Appraisal Directorate of the organisation deals with techno-economic appraisal of medium projects received from the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh State Governments, this includes Monitoring of schemes under Centrally Sponsored Command Area Development (CAD) Programme, Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme(AIBP), Revival and Restoration of Water Bodies.
