We started in Kefalonia, so romantic; lush greenery and pine forests and tiny vineyards where you can while away an afternoon (tip: Greek wine is delicious!). The locals are so welcoming – no wonder Captain Corelli’s Mandolin was set here. Over in Hydra, life goes at a slower place: art galleries hidden on the cliffside, quaint squares to sit in and soak up the smell of the lemon trees. For an adventure we visited Delos, just offMykonos, site of an ancient temple with labyrinth-like passages – it feels like something from Jason and the Argonauts! There are so many pristine beaches to relax on, but loads to do if you fancy a bit of action. Issos beach is the best in Corfu for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Mykonos is best for foodies, but I recommend Sifnos, a ferry ride from Athens: the smell of oregano welcomes you – they are masters at casseroles – but fresh grilled octopus is a must, and wood-oven feta pies. Mouthwatering! Nothing could prepare you for an evening watching the sun set behind the sea from stunning Santorini. Bucket list ticked! Book your trip today – you’ll fall in love with it.
