YouTube’s genAI tools could both simplify the content creation process and dilute creativity

The news: YouTube is expanding its generative AI (genAI) options for content creators, including AI-generated captions, headlines, thumbnails, and video concepts.

Users can also make video clips for YouTube Shorts with Veo, a video-generation model from Google DeepMind.

The new tools were announced at the Made on YouTube event this week, alongside incoming updates to its CTV app, and will roll out on YouTube Studio either late this year or early next year.
