Are you detailed oriented and love organizing? Would you like to work for a company that does meaningful work to help others? This position is a full-time entry-level paralegal position for a consumer litigation law firm that helps people going through tough financial times.
The majority of our work involves defending foreclosure to help people get back on track and keep their homes while avoiding bankruptcy, but has recently expanded to include handling probate, patent, and personal injury matters as well.
The successful candidate will be someone who can “follow through” to the end of any task.
This requires some prioritization of tasks, using checklists, and following processes to get the work done.
We are looking for a self-starter who is also detailed and caring.
Previous legal support or paralegal experience is preferred, but not required.
This is an ideal position for someone looking to make a shift into or continue a legal support career where making a difference for people is important to them.
The candidate needs to be professional on the phone and during the occasional face-to-face client meeting.
This position requires someone with a can-do attitude who can be trusted to manage their own workload with minimal oversight.
This is an important position for the firm, and you will be working closely with the attorneys to help our clients achieve their goals.
You should have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and be generally comfortable learning new technology systems.
We are looking for someone with steady job history or good grades in school, and some office or paralegal experience is preferred.
The candidate we hire needs to have a job history of being at one place of employment for at least two years, even if the position is not legal related (we are happy to consider service or retail work towards this goal).
Being out of work for a period of time is not an issue, but we avoid hiring candidates with a history of job hopping.
Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and other marginalized folks tend to only apply when they check every box.
So, if you think you qualify, but don't necessarily meet every single point on the job description, please still get in touch.
We'd love to connect and see if you could be a great fit.
We are an equal opportunity employer and encourage those who are disabled to apply.
