📘 I'm pleased to share a pivotal article titled "Development, optimization, and validation of a multi-residue analytical method for the detection of pharmaceuticals in seawaters." This study addresses the growing concern of emerging contaminants (ECs) in our aquatic environments and their potential health risks to humans and marine life. 🔍 The research presents a highly selective and sensitive method using solid phase extraction (SPE) followed by UHPLC-LTQ/Orbitrap MS to determine 18 frequently prescribed pharmaceuticals and 3 transformation products in seawater. This cutting-edge analytical technique is crucial for monitoring and managing the presence of pharmaceuticals in our oceans. 🌊💊 Key findings include the identification of the most effective sorbent for extraction as Oasis HLB, with recoveries ranging from 61.6% to 118.8% and low relative standard deviations for intra-day and inter-day precision.
