Good afternoon dear investors, network and friends, September is traditionally regarded as one of the weakest months of the year on the stock markets and the start was a tough one. Wall Street rumbled quite heavily on the first day of trading, because, just like a month earlier, weak data from industry immediately stoked fears of recession and caused the stock markets to plummet - and volatility to rise.   The fear of recession was back and so for the rest of the week, investors focused primarily on the many figures and data from the US. Several attempts at recovery and various labor market data later, the big showdown is now due today. The official labor market data, which will be published this afternoon at 2.30 pm, could become the big “make or break” moment for the Federal Reserve meeting the week after next and help decide whether the Fed will then cut interest rates by 25 or 50 basis points.   No matter what happens today, have a good rest over the weekend, because next week will be another busy one. On Monday, the new iPhones await us and on Tuesday - God willing - there will be the first TV duel between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. German bond yields hit one-year low as growth fears grip investors Germany's 2-year bond yield fell over 15 basis points to 2.151%, its lowest since March 2023. This yield, which is highly sensitive to European Central Bank interest rate expectations, dropped to its lowest level in over a year on Monday as investors flocked to government debt and sold off stocks.

Buy the dip, or sell before the dip dips more? Markus Thielen, founder of 10x Research, mentioned in an April 16th research note that his company had sold all of their tech stocks, citing stickier than expected inflation and rising bond yields as his current biggest concerns for the stock and crypto markets. Bitcoin has already seen more than a 9% dip, potentially due to waning expectations of interest rate cuts, but with the halving just days away, many crypto investors are holding steady, hoping the decrease in Bitcoin's supply can outweigh the less than ideal macroeconomic trends.
