𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩: 𝐀 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 „It is only for the post“ she said and smiled. That was a mini side sentence in a real conversation last week and kept me busy for days. In today’s rapidly evolving landscape, where information is spread at lightning speed through digital platforms, the importance of authenticity in general but specifically in leadership has never been more critical. What do I mean by authenticity in leadership? Authentic leaders are those who remain true to their values and principles, even in the face of challenges or criticism. They admit lack of knowledge, mistakes and they are open to feedback. This quality not only fosters trust within the own team but also helps in building a strong organizational culture. 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞. It might be normal to some extend to feel pressured in presenting a polished version of ourselves but social media has not helped. True strength of leadership, however, lies in vulnerability and transparency. When leaders embrace authenticity, they demonstrate the bravery to show their true selves, stand for their opinions and values, share their experiences (highs and lows in life), and admit their mistakes. This openness makes us human and can inspire others to do the same and by this create an environment of freedom where creativity and innovation can thrive. The greatest impacts in my life have come from courageous authentic leaders I met or worked together with. So, what is it about...? 💡 In the context of new media, where public opinion can shift overnight, authentic leaders stand apart. They help to build resilience against the noise of the digital world. 💡 Authenticity in leadership is a powerful antidote to the pressures of the modern world. 💡 It requires courage to be vulnerable and to lead in this way, but the rewards are profound. Authenticity is not just a trait; it is a necessary pillar of effective leadership in the 21st century. Feel free to share your view on the above… happy to discuss!

🚀 New video alert! 🚀 This week, a new virtual episode of "News about..." has gone live – and this time we're diving into another fascinating topic: #Digitalization, one of our key focus areas at TDK. 🤖💻 In this episode, our very own “AI-Kati” takes Markus (well, it’s me) on a journey from the world of endless hours in Excel, being overwhelmed by complexity and a lack of clarity to digital dashboards, AI-driven decisions, and automated processes. And the best part? This time, we’ve fully automated the hosting with our Synthesia avatars! 🎤✨ (still a bit creepy...) As always, the video serves as a teaser – followed by an in-depth discussion about our exciting digital transformation projects with Sebastian Bachinger. Thank you for joining us again, dear Sebastian! We are incredibly proud that this entire learning series has been developed and produced entirely in-house. It not only showcases how we bring topics across in a fun way – all without agency, budget, scripts or special effects – but also gives a true glimpse into the people of TDK Electronics as who we truly are (well, almost… I rarely sport a mustache, and my pencils are usually sharp since I hardly use them…). 😉 With each episode of "News about…", we convey relevant topics to our employees in Germany – all within just 30 minutes, completely free of charge and without the hassle of registration. A heartfelt thank you to my fantastic team, especially to Ina Petrasch, Katrin Unger, Emma Hildebrandt and Maika Dunkel, for their hard work on preparation, storyline, props, video editing, and the fun we had during the shoot! 💪🎉 Check it out and let us know what you think! 👇📽️ #HRrocks #digitalization #TDKElectronics #teamwork #lifelonglearning #organizationaldevelopment

🔄 Organization Development (#OD) and #Transformation aren't linear journeys! What began as a transformation workshop with my friends at Siemens Healthineers became a revelation in #OrganizationDevelopment. 🌟 When discussing #OperationalExcellence, we often focus on #People, #Processes, and #Products, sometimes even placing them in a linear sequence. This oversimplifies the intricate complexity involved in improving projects and organizations. The reality is far more complex, and understanding the cause-and-effect dynamics demands #SystemsThinking —an essential skill for effective organization development. Appreciation of #transformationexperts (aka: organization development experts) was a recurring topic as important enabler. 🚨 And remember: Beware of the iceberg! 🧊 #Leadership #ContinuousImprovement #ChangeManagement Thank you to Sabine Muth for the great facilitation and to Thomas Zeiser Silke Sasano and Marc Schlichtner for bringing us together! 🚀 Transformation is … when we can't rely on our standard processes. 🚀 It's as simple as that – and still, it struck me like lightning during a recent discussion with fellow "transformers!" ⚡ It's definitely something worth pondering. Here are some thoughts: 🔹 If we can use standard processes (for any "product" or artefact), we should do so to maintain efficiency. This also lays the groundwork for continuous improvement. 📈 🔹 If no standard process exists, we need to ask ourselves whether we should establish one. 🤔 🔹 If neither of the above applies, we're dealing with a "transformational project." 🔄 🔹 Any project involving breakthrough innovation (stretching beyond the current core business) is transformational. 🌟 🔹 Transformational projects need to be staffed to handle the transformation efforts, beyond the regular tasks. This is often overlooked, unfortunately. 🛠️ What are your experiences with transformational innovation? Share your thoughts! 💬 #innovation #transformation #technologycompany #continuousimprovement Silke Sasano Dr. Ralph-Christian Ohr Sabine Muth Ines Hefele Susan Bregenzer Steffen Wagner

What excites you most about your job? When I get asked this question, my answer is usually the variety of topics and the collaboration with colleagues from diverse fields. From recruiting and talent sourcing to talent development, DE&I, change management, marketing, and communications – I have interfaces and common topics with all of them. While working in a field with fluid boundaries and fewer established processes can be challenging, I have found my dream job in employer branding. Here, I can merge HR and Marketing & Communication, and despite the complex matrix structure at Danfoss, I have plenty of opportunities to innovate by working in cross-functional teams. Creativity, strategy, and execution go hand in hand, and I see the core of my role in using different marketing strategies in an HR context with current and future employees as my target audience. Soon, I will share more about how different areas intersect with employer branding and the projects I’m working on with my colleagues. Have you found your dream job yet? What makes it special for you? #EmployerBranding #TalentAttraction #Collaboration #WeAreDanfoss

🎄✨ What Employees Really Want This Christmas ?✨🎄 The holiday season is here, and while gift exchanges and festive treats fill the air with joy, it’s also a time to reflect on what truly matters. Beyond the tinsel and bonuses, employees are hoping for something deeper—something that lasts far beyond the holiday lights. At the heart of every organization are its people. Employees don’t just want paychecks; they want purpose. This Christmas, what they truly wish for is recognition. A heartfelt “thank you” or “you’re making a difference” carries more weight than we realize. It’s about knowing their efforts are seen, valued, and appreciated—not just during the holidays but year-round. They also long for connection. A workplace where relationships thrive, where collaboration feels natural, and where kindness is a daily practice—not just a seasonal sentiment. Feeling part of a team that genuinely cares is a gift no holiday bonus can replace. And then there’s growth and balance. Employees want opportunities to learn and evolve. They dream of workplaces that challenge them to become better versions of themselves while respecting their need for a life outside work. Flexible schedules, mental health support, and understanding bosses can be the true miracles of the season. So this Christmas, let’s give employees what they really want: #appreciation, #connection, and the belief that they’re part of something #meaningful. These aren’t just gifts—they’re investments in a thriving culture. Because when people feel cared for, they give their best and light up brighter than any holiday tree. Let’s build workplaces where the spirit of Christmas lasts all year. 🎁✨ #EmployeeEngagement #WorkplaceWellbeing #ChristmasAtWork

Time is NOT Real 🤯 This is supported by several philosophical, scientific, and psychological perspectives: 1. Philosophical Perspective: • Immanuel Kant: According to Kant, time (along with space) is not an objective reality but a framework within our minds that shapes our perception of the world. It’s a necessary condition for our experience, not an entity that exists independently outside of our perception. • Buddhism: In many Buddhist teachings, time is seen as a construct of the mind. Enlightenment involves seeing through these constructs to understand the true nature of reality, which transcends temporal distinctions. 2. Scientific Perspective: • Relativity: Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity revolutionized our understanding of time. According to relativity, time is not absolute but relative and intertwined with space into a four-dimensional spacetime continuum. Events that occur simultaneously for one observer may not be simultaneous for another, depending on their relative velocities and gravitational fields. • Quantum Mechanics: At the quantum level, particles do not have definite states until they are observed. This indeterminacy questions the traditional, linear conception of time. 3. Psychological Perspective: • Subjective Experience: Human perception of time can vary significantly depending on various factors such as attention, emotions, and psychological state. For instance, time may feel like it “flies” during enjoyable activities and “drags” during boring or stressful ones. • Memory and Anticipation: Our sense of past, present, and future is heavily dependent on memory and anticipation. Without these faculties, the concept of linear time would be meaningless. 4. Cosmological Perspective: • Block Universe Theory: Some physicists and philosophers propose the block universe theory, where past, present, and future coexist simultaneously. In this model, time is viewed as another dimension like space, and the passage of time is an illusion created by our consciousness moving along this dimension. 🕗🕘🕙🕦🕚🕐🕝🕞🕒🕟🕖🕡🕗 Thoughts?

How a smart approach to change management enables leadership by influencing As of this month, an internal expert for process standardization team has joined my team: Florian Kissel. He has a strong background in process mining and will drive process standardization for Global Business Support and beyond. Through his innovative approach to change management, he has already built a sizable number of followers across all functions who are ready to collaborate on process mining. So what are his tricks of the trade? · First question that gets addressed with his colleagues is “What´s in it for me?” In a recent initiative on duplicate vendor invoice checking, he explained to the Global Process Owner Purchase to Pay that this would help to prevent incorrect vendor payments and avoid the follow-on work of reversing them · Throughout the projects, he provides proactive support to all colleagues, so they feel well taken care of · With any avoided duplicate payment, the AP clerks can see their contribution to value realization immediately in SAP. Typically, he lets his colleagues sell such visible value realization as their success to upper management No wonder that the GPO P2P is ready for more collaboration, and we are currently building a plan for further rollout of this initiative across the company!

Leading HR Into 2030 🚀 In 2024, the role of Chief People Officers is already far from what it once was. Traditionally seen as facilitators of administrative functions, today's CPOs are pivotal strategic partners, influencing major business decisions and shaping organizational futures. According to this study by Heidrick & Struggles, the contemporary CPO must master a suite of new skills: 🔹 Stakeholder Management: CPOs now engage with a much wider and more senior set of stakeholders . The ability to engage and influence across them is crucial. CPOs thrive when they are "superconnectors", building relationships across the whole organization. They need to build trust, particularly with CEOs and board members as they are employees' advocates and often the only person talking about certain issues. 🔹 Strategic Storytelling: Storytelling is an essential tool for change management. By bringing together deep commercial acumen with data and insights from stakeholders interactions, CPOs craft a credible narrative for all levels of the organization and bring the workforce along for the long term. It's about painting the big picture, the vision and strategic path forward, explaining how the necessary changes fit into the global plan. 🔹 Building High-Performance HR Teams: To manage both foundational operations and long-term strategy, CPOs need to rely on high-performing HR teams who steer the day-to-day work while they focus on the next five to ten years. Those teams must maintain a close relationship with other units, showing up as real partners for the business and proving instrumental in navigating organizational challenges. The role of HR must be poised for new profound changes. As its boundaries expand, CPOs must not only adapt to new realities but also proactively shape them. The future might see HR transitioning into an even more integrated or decentralized role within businesses, reflecting a dynamic where strategic human resource management is embedded directly in business functions. This demanding yet exhilarating trajectory redefines the essence of HR leadership, making it a cornerstone of business strategy and organizational excellence. Future starts now! #HR #HRLeadership #StrategicHR https://lnkd.in/eVp-SCaZ

Personally, in the early stages of my career, wellbeing ranked low in my priorities list as a professional. A change began with a shift in mindset and this is exactly what I try to communicate within my team: to foster wellbeing at and beyond the workplace. A remarkable moment as a leader this year, was guiding our all-employee townhall in a wellbeing chat. Here are a couple of things I encouraged them to reflect on: 1. Putting your health and well-being as your number one priority is a game changer 2. Great health habits on a consistent basis matched with discipline is the key to putting your health and well-being first Exploring what wellbeing looks like in your workplace is key, I think this all begins with dialogue. That's why I'm joining the HR Leaders Summit to discuss innovative strategies at next week's panel: "building a unified wellbeing framework for your workforce". Excited to share these learnings on November 13: https://lnkd.in/gV5xjZkA

Five years ago today I drove to Porvoo to meet my bosses-to-be for the first time. I failed to estimate the driving time on an afternoon that precedes a long weekend and arrived 30 minutes late. Talking about first impressions… 😅 In that meeting we talked about #performance, #leadership and #culture development. I joined the company some months later and these topics have been on my agenda ever since. Together we have made a measureable difference in leadership and feedback culture in Porvoo factory and I couldn’t be more proud of the commitment our people leaders have shown over the years. No training itself is enough, the change only happens when the learnings are taken into the daily life. Today we wrapped yet another chapter on this story with the factory organization. After establishing a strong process we have focused lately on self-awareness, individual differences, behaviour and in this last session especially on communication. Excellent participation and discussion! 🤩 Thanks also to Anne Westersund for your gentle guidance 💐 Leadership is a never-ending learning journey so now it’s time practice again in real life!

"Those who do not take time for exercise will need a lot of time for their illnesses." Yesterday, 3,843 employees at Siemens were able to follow an exciting #healthtalk@Siemens on the topic of regeneration with Prof Dr. Ingo Froböse, Klaus Pelster and Katja Wagner. He is a renowned expert in prevention and rehabilitation at the German Sport University Cologne and is known for his extensive research and publications on health, exercise, and regeneration. In our #healthtalk, he demonstrated why regeneration is indispensable not only in high-performance sports but also in everyday work life. He particularly emphasized the importance of combining exercise and relaxation as a central component of holistic regeneration. Regeneration is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle, but it is often neglected. In a time when we are constantly confronted with demands and stress, it becomes increasingly difficult to take enough time for recovery. In high-performance sports, this principle is self-evident – after intense exertion, a phase of recovery follows. But why is this also important in our everyday work life? Regeneration not only helps to overcome physical exhaustion but also ensures that we are mentally and emotionally recharged. It is more than just a break. Through targeted recovery phases, we can recharge our working capacity and prevent stress from leading to chronic complaints. At the same time, regeneration promotes mental clarity and the ability to handle complex tasks. And did you know that even short regeneration phases can reduce the risk of workplace accidents? At Siemens, we offer our employees a wide range of measures from our Health Management team, such as active breaks that can be taken at any time, regardless of location. And how about you, have you taken time to regenerate today? #proudtobeSiemens #healthyandsafe Judith Wiese Ralf Franke
