The Limited Qualified Investor Fund (L-QIF) has been in force since March 1, 2024. The L-QIF is a new category of collective investment, designed to enhance the attractiveness of Swiss investment funds. The L-QIF is not subject to FINMA authorization. It is reserved to qualified investors and is generally administered by a fund management company. This reflects the countries strong financial position, effective governance, and economic resilience, even amid external challenges.   S&P Global highlighted the successful accession to the IMF as a further contribution to Liechtenstein’s long-term financial stability.   Prime Minister Daniel Risch underscored the importance of prudent budget management and preserving Liechtenstein’s favorable conditions as the foundation for stability and effectively addressing future challenges. Half-Year Reports also in English available Our three real estate funds presented their half-year results for 2024 today: 👉 Helvetica Swiss Commercial Fund (#HSCFund): Net income of CHF 12.4 million in the first half of 2024 contributes CHF 3.40 to the distribution per unit; 34,500 m2 new and re-let with an average term of five years; HSC Fund is the best-performing listed Swiss real estate fund with +21% since the beginning of 2024. 👉 Helvetica Swiss Opportunity Fund (#HSOFund): Vacancy rate reduced from 5 % to 2.3 % as at June 30, 2024; preparations for the merger with the Helvetica Swiss Commercial Fund (HSC Fund) are on track. 👉 Helvetica Swiss Living Fund (#HSLFund): debt ratio significantly reduced to 31.5 % as at the end of August 2024; EBIT margin increases from 56 % to 63 %. German fund industry grows by 9 per cent year-on-year: ◾ Equity funds are the largest group ◾ Bond funds top the sales list ◾ Spezialfonds: Outsourcing of portfolio management is widespread Fund companies had a total of EUR 4,289 billion AuM for investors in Germany as at 31 March 2024, an increase of nine per cent in the last twelve months (31 March 2023: EUR 3,922 billion). This means that assets are only slightly below the all-time high of EUR 4,311 billion at the end of 2021. The majority, at EUR 2,125 billion, is attributable to open-ended Spezialfonds for institutional investors. These are primarily retirement benefit schemes (EUR 748 billion) and insurance companies (EUR 543 billion). The fund companies manage EUR 1,459 billion in open-ended retail funds. Equity funds account for EUR 680 billion of this total. Their share has risen from 36 to 47 per cent in the last five years, mainly due to the rise in stock prices. Next come balanced funds with EUR 350 billion and bond funds with EUR 217 billion. Their share fell from 28 to 24 per cent and 20 to 15 per cent respectively. The net assets of property funds totalled EUR 129 billion. In the first quarter of 2024, the fund industry received a net inflow of EUR 21.7 billion in Germany. Open-ended Spezialfonds accounted for EUR 9.5 billion of this. Open-ended retail funds attracted EUR 3.8 billion. This is above the average value for the quarters in 2023 (EUR 3.2 billion).
