This is where The Hunger Project Switzerland comes in: for over 40 years, we have been working globally to empower women and break the cycle of chronic hunger. This year's theme, Right to Food for a Better Life and a Better Future, highlights the importance of a rights-based approach to ensuring healthy and nutritious food access for all. In 2023, 2.33 billion people faced moderate or severe food insecurity due to climate change, conflict, and inequality. Women and children are disproportionately affected, and smallholder farmers face increasing challenges in securing their livelihoods. At The Hunger Project, we are committed to transforming food systems to be more sustainable, equitable, and inclusive, especially for women and youth. Our community-led development model empowers local leaders to drive change, build resilience against climate shocks, and enhance food security. The project is being implemented through a partnership that includes The Hunger Project-Ghana, Catholic Relief Services, Vitamin Angels, and MAP International.
