🇮🇸🇱🇮🇳🇴🇨🇭 EFTA–Thailand 🇹🇭 free trade negotiations are concluded!🚀🤝 Today, heads of delegation from the #EFTA States and #Thailand met online to finalise negotiations towards an ambitious and broad-based free trade agreement (FTA). This agreement will strengthen economic ties and boost trade and investment between the two sides, opening the door to Thailand’s dynamic and growing market of 70 million consumers.🌍 As a diversified economy and a powerhouse in ASEAN, Thailand plays a key role in global value chains of interest to EFTA, such as watchmaking, textiles and apparel, electronics and precision machinery. The FTA will ensure that EFTA exporters stay competitive in Thailand by aligning with the trade conditions of Thailand’s FTAs with other major trading blocs. Thai companies will benefit from EFTA expertise in finance, consulting and engineering, while Thai tourism could see more visitors from EFTA countries. Bilateral EFTA–Thailand merchandise trade exceeded EUR 3.2 billion in 2023.
