Davos' strong brand is - among other factors - based on the innovative aura of the established research institutes in the Landwasser Valley. The Davos-based education, research and innovation institutes stand for top-level performance and generate research assignments from all over the world. These institutes represent an essential cornerstone for the regional economy, they stand for much more than just an important reputation factor. Davos trusts in the future generations and educates them on-site through excellent schools and the research institutes. On the one hand, this strengthens the traditional institutes such as the Vocational School Davos, the Swiss Alpine Secondary School , the Swiss Sports High School or the Graduate School Graubünden. On the other hand, it should prevent the "brain drain" by creating advantages which attract highly-qualified staff and their families to Davos.

Science City Davos congratulates Sibylle Grad on this well deserved honor for her decades of dedication to teaching and mentoring ETH Zürich students both in Zurich and up here at the AO Research Institute Davos (ARI). AO Foundation has ex members as fully employed Professors at ETHZ, (eg Stephen Ferguson, who studied his PhD with us, Jörg Goldhahn) but Prof Grad is the first ever ARI employee to attain a professorship at ETH Zürich. Sibylle teaches and mentors numerous ETH Zürich students both in Zurich and here in Davos. She leads a course with other ARI researchers at ETHZ on skeletal repair. She teaches in the Practical methods in tissue engineering course and the spring semester on Functional anatomy. We are proud to keep her as a valuable team member here in Davos. Prof. R. Exercise while you work in Davos
SLF-Wissenschaftlerin Anne Kempel und ihr Team haben im Sommer 2024 an verschiedenen Orten in Davos auf jeweils drei Höhenstufen Insektenkameras aufgestellt. Diese fotografieren automatisch die Insekten, wenn sie sich auf dem leuchtgelben Schild befinden. Damit möchte sie in erster Linie das System testen, ob es überhaupt dafür geeignet ist, die Bestäubervielfalt und -häufigkeit zu erfassen.
