Earlier this year, Reos Partners facilitated South Africa’s premier event for grant-makers, the 10th Annual Philanthropy Symposium, under the theme Reimagining Philanthropy for a Better Future. This inspiring gathering allowed grant-makers to connect, share knowledge, and discuss bold ideas for lasting impact. Building on this experience, we share key insights on how systems leadership can act as a compass amidst the chaos in the December IPASA Newsletter. At Reos Partners, we’ve recognised that traditional leadership approaches are no longer enough to tackle the complexities of this era. We offer philanthropic leaders and their partners practical tools to drive meaningful change. 💥 Read more here: https://hubs.li/Q02_zYn-0 Independent Philanthropy Association of South Africa #SystemsLeadership #IPASA2024 #ReimaginingPhilanthropy

In 2022, at the invitation of the Hawaii Executive Collaborative and with guidance from Reos Partners, 43 diverse leaders came together to imagine new futures for Hawai‘i — futures that honour its deep cultural heritage and history. 🌺 What began as an ambitious scenario planning project has since evolved into the Rediscovering Hawai‘i’s Soul network, now home to over 100 organisations and 600 individuals, all working collectively to build a movement rooted in the true essence of Hawai‘i. This is not just a vision for the future — it’s a return to a deeper understanding of Hawai‘i’s soul, shaped by Indigenous wisdom, community-driven values, and a commitment to preserving cultural heritage. 🌍 Through this collaborative work, Reos Partners has helped foster a space for inclusive dialogue, where Native Hawaiian leaders and community members guide the movement’s growth, ensuring that every step forward reflects Hawai‘i’s true cultural richness and resilience. Hear from four leaders at the heart of this transformative journey, as they share how the network is building a more just, inclusive, and empowered future for Hawai‘i. ➡️ https://hubs.li/Q02-KXwL0 #TransformativeScenarios #RediscoverHawaiisSoul #HawaiianValues #CulturalHeritage #AlohaSpirit #HawaiiFuture #RadicalCollaboration #IndigenousLeadership #HawaiiStrong #InclusiveDialogue #HawaiianWisdom

🌍 National Dialogues have long been seen as a path to peace in the Horn of Africa, but they’ve often fallen short of achieving their potential. A futures-oriented approach, using methodologies like Transformative Scenario Planning (TSP) and Future Search, offers a fresh perspective for addressing long-term conflicts. These tools focus on inclusivity, shared ownership, transparency, and accountability to support more sustainable, locally-led paths to peace. Abdel-Rahman El-Mahdi and Rebecca Freeth PhD explore how futures thinking can contribute to peacebuilding efforts across Sudan, Somalia, and the Horn of Africa. 🔗 Read here: https://hubs.li/Q02-kMwV0 #TransformativeScenarios #Peacebuilding #HornOfAfrica #FuturesThinking
