We believe anyone can be an entrepreneur and continue to invest in the next generation of engineers across our operations. Last year, as part of our early careers outreach, we invited 28 engineering students from universities across Denmark for a packed programme of sessions at the historic Hindsgavl Castle. Joined by leading specialists within energy production the students worked on projects focused on Denmark’s transition to carbon neutrality. Last week in Lisbon, the World Refining Association brought together leaders to discuss the future of refining during the energy transition. Paul Hathaway, Klesch Commercial Director, joined a panel on AI’s Impact on the Refining Industry. He shared how AI is being used at our refineries, including at Raffinerie Heide GmbH, where AI has been used since 2021 for predictive maintenance, using machine learning to monitor equipment and predict anomalies. Across our refineries we pride ourselves on being pillars of the community, supporting local initiatives and making sure we have a positive impact on those around us. That includes having fun alongside our neighbours too, like when some of the Heide Refinery team joined in the Wadden Olympics - a unique event we’re proud to sponsor. A self-made businessman and entrepreneur, Gary founded Klesch Group in 1990, and through his strategic investments in industries like steel, chemicals, and refining, revitalised numerous companies. Through his leadership, Klesch has grown and cemented itself as a leading independent refiner recognised for operational excellence. It was fantastic to see our Kalundborg Refinery team recently welcome more than 60 of their closest neighbours on site for its latest neighbourhood meeting. These meetings are a regular opportunity for the refinery’s leadership team to hear from the local community, strengthen shared understanding, and keep them up to date with refinery plans. Managing Director Claus Navntoft led the proceedings, and in his speech he emphasised a desire to work collaboratively and to continue supporting local groups in their endeavours to make Kalundborg an attractive place, to live, work, and study. #Community
