What are the biggest trends for regulatory and innovation sandboxes in 2025?   For me, 2025 will be the year of intensified cross-border collaboration.   Shortly after attending the European AI Sandbox Summit in Brussels, organized by FARI - AI for the Common Good Institute and CAIRNE, I explored the thriving Asian sandbox ecosystem at I-Nation Global Summit 2024 hosted by MRANTI in Kuala Lumpur.   It was inspiring to learn about the approaches of Malaysia, South Korea, Indonesia, and other initiatives as part of the NTIS Global Sandbox Forum. Two key aspects stood out:   1) A strong emphasis on enabling innovation that goes beyond regulatory compliance 2) The impressive scale of some of the sandbox operations with hundreds of completed projects   A big thank you to the wonderful MRANTI team for inviting me to Kuala Lumpur to share a Swiss perspective.   There is so much to learn from each other! 

Is Greater Zurich becoming a hotspot for EV & autonomous driving? 🚗 In November, we had the pleasure of hosting the Chinese Business Network event focused on #EV and #AutonomousMobility. The event featured presentations from industry experts from Switzerland and China, showcasing collaboration opportunities, cutting-edge developments, and future trends.   💡 Based on these insights, we’ve created a new factsheet highlighting what makes the #GreaterZurichArea a hub for new forms of mobility. Smart City Award für den «WintiGPT» 🥳 Jedes Jahr zeichnet der Smart City Hub Switzerland die innovativsten Projekte im Bereich Smart City aus. Dieses Jahr gewinnt Winterthur den Preis – für die verschiedenen KI-gestützten Anwendungen, die die Stadtverwaltung seit diesem Jahr testweise im Einsatz hat. Dazu gehört zum Beispiel der «WintiGPT». Er hilft den städtischen Mitarbeitenden dabei, schnell relevante Informationen zu finden. So kann die Verwaltung effizienter arbeiten und wird im Umgang mit generativer KI sensibilisiert. 👏
