EcoVadis is a globally recognized platform for assessing corporate sustainability performance. We did our first assessment in August 2024 and were right away rewarded with the Bronze medal 💪 A Bronze medal indicates that a company's sustainability efforts are above average compared to its peers. DISCH ranked even in the top 21% of all pharmaceutical companies worldwide. This shows that our efforts pay off. We focus since quite some time on sustainability to show that DISCH is actively working to improve our environmental, social, and ethical practices. Disch AG has, founded in 1903, specialized for 120 years in the production of hard-boiled lozenges, toffees and pastilles (gummies). DISCH established itself as a pioneering company in functional confectionery when in 1933, it brought out the well-known «Sportmint» - the first nutraceutical product in history. The refreshing toffee with added vitamin C was a novelty, combining for the first time, a delicious taste in a pleasant chew with the intake of a vitamin. Nutraceuticals were born. Being since then a leading CDMO in confectionery technology, today we focus on the production of pharmaceutical products (OTC) and dietary supplements for customers around the globe. We develop according to our customers' specifications and produce in Switzerland on modern lines according to recognized standards such as GMP. In 2023 we launched for the first time in 40 years own branded DISCH products again. Our premium toffees "Swiss fruit" are functional soft chews of highest quality and with an amazing taste. Business trips can be stressful and tiring, and after nine hours on the train or plane, you often ask yourself whether it was really necessary and if you could have done a video call instead. The latter is certainly very useful these days because it is technically simple and everyone is familiar to it. But sitting at the table with customers or partners and discussing things live is still essential from time to time if you want to maintain the quality of collaboration. The interpersonal contacts outside of official meetings are priceless - for example, during a casual lunch or dinner in a special location. That's where the bonds are strengthened by getting to know people better. And memories are made as stories happen. No video conference can make up for that.
