Over 350 projects were presented through hackathon-style collaboration at three Accelerator events held this year in Krakow, Poland and Bangalore, India, fostering AI-driven innovation and delivering meaningful business value to the company. Alongside AI Boost conferences, we also raised awareness of AI’s critical role in shaping the future of our organization. Delivered by a team of experts, these events became a great development opportunity for all the employees, thanks to the support of our CIO, Alec Joannou and Peter Alkema, Head of IS Enterprise & Technology Architecture. We’ve signed an agreement to acquire the power electronics business of Gamesa Electric in Spain from Siemens Gamesa. This acquisition is in line with our commitment to grow our portfolio for high-power renewable applications.   The transaction will complement ABB’s expertise with over 100 highly specialized engineers and two Spanish converter factories in Madrid and Valencia for a total workforce of around 400 employees.   The offering ABB is acquiring is focused on electrical products for power conversion and includes: - Doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) wind converters, - Industrial battery energy storage system (BESS) - Utility-scale solar power inverters.   We will continue to expand our opportunities to service, modernize, and repower the renewables installed base while building on key customer relationships. This project marks a significant milestone in the evolution of sustainable maritime transportation in the US and beyond, with us playing a pivotal role in the development and delivery of the five new build vessels. Partnering with Aker Solutions for a major UK floating offshore wind project! We’re proud to collaborate with Aker Solutions on the Green Volt project, led by Vårgrønn and Flotation Energy. Set to become Europe’s first commercial-scale floating offshore wind farm, Green Volt will be located 80km off the coast of Peterhead, Scotland. When operational in 2029, the project will supply 1.5 TWh of renewable energy annually—enough to power 555,000 homes—while contributing to the UK and Scotland’s ambitious net-zero targets. As part of the front-end engineering and design (FEED) phase, we will work on the complete electrical study for the facility, including system design and high voltage equipment.
