We are seeking a team-focused and results-oriented Construction Observer who is looking to be a significant contributor to the execution of multiple civil transportation and aviation projects.
Foth Infrastructure’s engineering team, as the civil engineering consultant to multiple eastern Iowa municipalities and the Eastern Iowa Airport, is charged with providing engineering and construction solutions for a variety of challenging projects.
We do this through minimizing impacts to the citizens, business owners, and the environment.
Projects include improvements to a wide variety of infrastructure systems to include utilities, roads, taxiways, and runways.
You will be integral in providing essential solutions critical to the future success of these clients.

Primary Responsibilities:
Provide construction observation services for both municipal and aviation client needs
Oversee and coordinate contracted services, including survey and material testing
Document and verify adherence to project specifications
Complete daily logs, weekly progress reports, and track as-built quantities
Reading and interpreting design documents
Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project manager regarding project scope, timelines, and related project issues
Coordinate construction activities with associated representatives of the client, contractors and regulatory agencies
Ability to work extended hours, occasional weekends and overnight
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management or similar relevant experience in these areas
Previous civil construction experience (e.
g.
, paving, storm/sanitary sewer, watermain, earthwork/grading and erosion control)
Preferred Qualifications:
Civil Engineering Degree or Construction Engineering Degree
Experience using aided design (CAD) software
Minimum 5 years of experience in construction observation or equal combination of formal education and applicable experience
Experience using survey equipment (total station and GPS)
