The City of Cedar Rapids is seeking a skilled and proactive Preventative Maintenance Supervisor for our Water Pollution Control department.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and implementing preventative maintenance programs, ensuring the optimal performance of equipment and facilities related to water pollution control.

Cedar Rapids - Why you should live here! About this Opportunity In this position Monitors, develops, implements, and improves the maintenance/preventive maintenance programs and actions of the wastewater plant, lift pump station, and flood pump stations.
Examples of Essential Duties Supervises and monitors preventative maintenance, equipment, and processes are in compliance with quality standards and wastewater permit Supervises the work of assigned personnel, including assigning and reviewing work, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations Conducts daily inspections and performs collection system emergency repairs and maintenance; provides safety training specific to proper cleaning, use of tools and equipment Maintains the work order and corrective work order process from preventative maintenance inspections of plant equipment Coordinates predictive resources and determines condition based on monitoring techniques to prevent premature equipment failures Coordinates and prepares bids and bid specifications Tracks inventory management and orders supplies; works with the parts and inventory technician to order and receive inventory and ensures a reduction of waste Performs related work as required Required Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalency in Industrial Technology, Environmental Sciences, or Industrial Maintenance and Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in Industrial maintenance with supervisory role and experience with payroll and overtime or An equivalent combination of education and/or experience Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population Additional Information Work Schedule Monday - Friday 6:30am - 3:30pm Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Statement The City of Cedar Rapids is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
