Changes are Coming to Your Commute, Become Informed, Make Your Plans
As a result of decisions by the National Capital Commission (NCC) and OC Transpo, future changes will affect the daily commute of students, faculty, staff and visitors travelling to the university. Many of these changes are tied to the NCC’s infrastructure upgrade program and the City’s multi-year Light Rail Transit construction plans.
Some of the changes are also a result of Carleton’s new Transportation Plan that will be implemented in the coming years.
Carleton is sharing information as soon as possible to educate members of the university community about these changes which start in 2019 and will continue to 2022. Updates will be provided on this page to announce Transportation Plan improvements to the campus and any other service interruptions.
Information is being provided to the Carleton community in advance of these changes, to assist members of the community to plan their commuting to campus.

March 21, 2022 – Work Continues on the LRT Trillium Line
Carleton University has been notified of construction delays on the LRT Trillium Line that services the University. As a result, the O-Train Line 2 will remain closed for at least the remainder of 2022.
During this extended closure, Line 2 buses will continue to provide service between South Keys and Bayview Stations, with stops on Campus Avenue and University Dive at Carleton. The university is continuing discussions with the city to ensure appropriate levels of bus service to the Carleton campus during the 2022-2023 academic year. Students are encouraged to keep up-to-date with bus service alerts from OC Transpo
August 16, 2021 – Pedestrian Control Plan (PCP) – Existing Sidewalk Detour
Further to previous notifications, this notice is to provide clarification to our Carleton University Community about the existing Pedestrian Control Plan (PCP) – Existing Sidewalk Detour.
A detour is in place for pedestrians accessing campus at the Bronson Ave. main entrance. Due to construction on University Dr., sidewalks are presently closed to pedestrian traffic between Bronson Ave. and Campus Ave. Instead, pedestrians are detoured to enter campus using Stadium Way.
Please note that pedestrian access to the West sidewalk along Bronson Avenue (from Colonel By Drive crosswalk to Stadium Way) is also closed. Pedestrian Access to University Drive is unavailable until the completion of this Intersection Modification Project.
All Pedestrians traveling both North and South on Bronson Avenue have been detoured to the East Sidewalk along Bronson Ave., crossing at the Colonel By Drive Crosswalk and the Brewer Way Crosswalk. Pedestrians can enter and exit the North side of campus using Stadium Way until construction is completed.
The existing Cycle track through P7 is also closed during the expansion of P7 (Note: a new paved cycle pathway is being realigned during this project and is scheduled for completion November 2, 2021.)
For our Carleton University Community’s information, the existing Pedestrian Sidewalk Detour (PCP) of the University Bronson Intersection Modification, University Drive Roundabout, and P7 Expansion Projects is below. Click here to Fly Over the New Bronson Entrance.
